Description
Web search reloaded: DEVONagent Express brings web search directly to your menu bar. Just like Spotlight searches your computer DEVONagent Express searches the web and presents the results directly in its menu. A great selection of top-notch search engines and large tool tips with preview pictures and summaries let you find the right page before you open it in your web browser. You can even query all three major web search engines all at the same time or use pre-fab collections such as a thumbnail gallery search set.
Your search assistant: While the 'express' mode just collects the results the 'agent' mode does a lot more for you in the background. It downloads each page, filters advertisements, error pages as well as pages that don't fit your question, and applies its own ranking. No more Error 404 pages, no more pages that have nothing to do with your search at all.

Today's maintenance release brings three new plugins: "Neeva", "Caselaw", and "IEEEXplore". For better search results, DEVONagent Express handles filtering advertisements a bit more aggressively. And as always, we made fixes and again increased overall performance and reliability.

Worth it!
This is good, and a good value at this price!
Down one star though for not providing a way to access it by other means than the menubar, and by adding another menubar icon. If I'm in Safari or several other apps with a lot of their own menu items, I can't even see the DA menubar icon because it gets crowded out. I have to switch to finder to use it. If I end up with a few more menubar icons, it's going to be a real mess up there.
WOW………...
I have DevonThink and have grown to have great respect for what DEVONtechnologies, LLC has offered the OSX - iOX world. I am the 'average joe' when it comes to searching the internet for information; anyone remember "Ask Jeeves"? Well, good ole 'Google' was about the only search engine that I would currently use and sort through it to find information relevant to what I was interested in. Folks, you get this thing called DEVONagent EXPRESS, slap it into Web (deep) and just watch what will come up using many search engines at one time. I have not messed with the boulean, e.g., (AND (XXXX)) but a little, and I am going to have to brush up on that syntax as that is going to be another good experience with web searching in chewing down to just what I want to see.
Agent Express is "PHENOMINAL" in what it does. Exactly what DEVON says it will. I doubt that I would ever need the options that I am sure they built into the Pro version of this, but I bet for the "Not So Average Joe" researcher, the Pro version would have to be a must have.
Just spend that 5$, I think you WILL NOT be disappointed if you are the average JOE information seeker like me.

Not ready for prime time
I violated a cardinal rule: don't buy new software until the second or third upgrade. The app installed fine but on the third use it froze my entire Mac. I couldn't force quit the app; had to kill the whole machine and reboot. It's also slow in searching for anything not in the cache. The drop down results window is so narrow that you can't read enough of the description to know what the site is, and the thumbnails are so small as to be unhelpful. I'm going back to plain Google searches in the browser. There's nothing "express" about this. A good idea but it's not ready for prime time. If there was a way to get a refund from the App Store I would. I violated my own rule, so have no one to blame. I look forward to the upgrades of this app.
