Fully Featured Release - still a FREE unlimited version!
Are you a diabetic? Do you need to track the glucose readings, food intake, and medicine records of a diabetic? Then this is the app for you.
As a Type-1 diabetic, I've spent my life having to track all of this information on a daily basis, and I've spend many years looking for the perfect application to record it all. And finally, I've had a chance to write one.
This early version of the application has most of the basic features, but I plan to implement more exciting features beyond the "basic needs" as time goes on. This is where I need feedback from other users.
- Export of records (CSV over e-mail)
- User-selectable span of records to view
- Recording for Glucose, Medicine, and Food
- Editing of medication types and/or record classifications
As an early release, I'm offering this application for free, to get quality constructive feedback from folks to help guide development. I expect to charge a modest sum when I'm confident the application has reached a sufficient level of quality.
Great thanks to the reviews and support I have recieved so far. The app is nearly complete now, in my opinion, but still basic. Soon it will be even better!
- Incorrect Glucose value caused erroneous display and/or crash. Fixed.
Ratings and Reviews
Nice start to this app. I've been using pen and paper to keep track of my sugars/insulin/food eaten and I'm liking this app so far. If there is a way to group the different catagories onto one page, it would be perfect for me. As it is, everything has to go in separate and I can't open the app and see at a glance the info for a given meal. I have to open each catagory separately, but it may only be an issue for me because I use the note section to write my meal in. I'd also like to be able to record info without having to enter a "value". Currently, if I'm feeling hypo, I can't just make that note. I must enter a value in one of the catagories. I've just been entering "0" for insulin for my default in this situation. Again, it might just be my own issue and not a problem for others. If these issues can't be addressed, I can probably work around them once I get into a routine with the app. I also agree with a previous comment regarding the military time...
All in all, though, I love this app!
For those of you looking for a different insulin than Humalog, if you touch the name of the insulin (Humalog) a list will pop up of different types...
Really good app!
I really like this app, and use it to track my diabetes. If you just need a log, this one is really good. It does tend to crash from time to time - seemingly when I scroll through the "category" function where it logs breakfast, after breakfast, etc. The developers should maybe look at that to see if they could address that issue, even though it is a minor one. I would like to see an improvement made in the setup where I could input different medicines - there aren't really all that many (like, what? maybe 18 total) so when I put in my basic medication as glucovance, it shows up as glucovance instead of "bolus" which seems to be some kind of default. Also, I'd like to be able to enter more than one kind of medication since I take 4. It would also be nice to add associated medications since so many diabetics also take thyroid, statins, etc. I challenge the developers to add that functionality, but even without it, the product works well for me as is. And hey, it's free! (At least for now - if they make these improvements, they really should start charging......)
Excellent start to a much needed App!
For those who are Type 1 [myself included] this is a terrific start to an App that could help make record keeping simple and very excessible via the iPhone. I think most of us may agree, having a way to email our data to an email address of choice, is a much needed addition. Also, categories that would be specific to Insulin Pump Users and a way to change the name of the type of Insulin [currently defaults as "Humalog"] so Insulins such as Novalog, Lispro, etc. could be entered. Other than that, as stated, it's a great start.
Thanks to Chris Ross, he's taking on this task for the rest of us and on top of it all, allowing us to evaluate it for Free and will field any suggestions and/or comments we may have for future consideration. I think the actions of Chris, come under the category of "integrity" ... as we all know who is really the "silly" one here, amongst all the reviewers.
