Decent, but not without issues.

I've used Dialpad for going on three years now and the service itself is generally quite good.

However, as with other reviewers, I am plagued with spam calls and there doesn't appear to be any way to avoid this. Number blocking is not helpful here as the numbers change daily. I spend so much time answering these calls then blocking them only to receive the same call again the next day. As a software engineer, I'm aware of the abundance of solutions out there to suppress automated calls — why is this not a priority for Dialpad?

Additionally, specific to this mobile app, notifications don't disappear after reading the message. No matter how many times I review a missed call, voicemail or message in the app the notification remains. It's pretty irritating and it seems like it should be an obvious one to address. I cannot trust notification indicators from Dialpad because they're constantly stale, sometimes it takes weeks for them to "disappear ".

I've also been experiencing an issue where I complete a call on my desktop and then as much as 10 minutes later I open the mobile app and it's showing the call as still being in progress.

There seems to be some major sync issues between the desktop and mobile platforms that are presenting usability issues for me. Between these and the spam calls I'm seriously considering my options for migrating to a new service.

Visionary & Exasperating

Dialpad offers some very compelling and unique capabilities which show a visionary approach to VOIP and corporate telephony. That being said, it is the most frustrating company and application I use everyday. The user interface is confounding. The desktop, smartphone and iPad apps provide great flexibility for how calls are handled but there is NO consistency in design which creates great confusion with me (an Electrical Engineer) and other users. We are a frustrated small company. I can't imagine how a large company could manage the training and support calls these apps would create. It would be interesting if all the 5-star reviews had some detailed praise. There is one thing that has improved greatly. I'll give a pat on the back for whoever got rid of all the spam calls. They also have reorganized the features on the different payment plans which is much better. I'm still looking for a better solution but I have not found one yet.

As for blocking calls, you can do that from the mobile app. Just open the conversation with that person, then "tap to view profile", tap "edit" and "block" at the very bottom.

Dialpad is Life changing

Dialpad has been the saving grace for my work from home/remote lifestyle. I’m based in Arizona with my entire team in Los Angeles and Dialpad has not only given me one number where clients can always reach me, but the team chat and texting features are perfect. I also love the fact that I can pick up a call on my computer or on WiFi on my cell phone as the reception in my home office is horrendous. The HD quality is one of my favorite features - it practically sounds like the person on the other end is in the room with you! I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking to simplify and stop using their personal cell phone number for work. Dialpad is perfect for work/life balance!
