So close yet so far

Wanted to love this app; bought upgrade pack for offline dictionary usage, medical and science definitions, and, most importantly, thorough etymologies. Unfortunately, it's so slow to start up (because of so much unnecessary newslike listicle content) that I can't quickly get a definition and return to what I was reading without having to reread the sentence. 5-6 seconds doesn't sound like much, but it's way too long for a dictionary app to start up. Furthermore, they've started displaying ads in the app even though I already paid $6 to have them removed.
This app had a lot of potential, but the slow startup and dishonest practices of the developers make it not worthwhile. I've gone back to using Merriam-Webster's free app instead.

Does what it should, plus a few extras

As one would expect, this is a dictionary. One can search for words, view the word of the day, and there a a blog which usually has interesting word-related facts/history/whatnot on it. Plus, for completing simple activities (viewing word of the day, searching dictionary, visiting blog) one gains m+ points (available across different apps) which can then be redeemed for rewards. All-in-all, quality free app (especially for a word geek like myself).

Be ready

UPDATE: They're still doing it. Just updated and it took away my purchased upgrades and tells me I have none. I'm going to complain to Apple.

For the latest update they make it seem like you have not purchased any upgrades and try to trick you into upgrading again. I can't say enough how duplicitous the set-up is for this app. Stay away.

for an unannounced notice that you've used all your voice inputs (versus typing an entry) and you'll have to pay for the next 100. I paid xtra to get usage examples included. What's next? Don't like this sneaky way of increasing revenue on a purchase. Can't recommend for this reason.

After some Time using this app I have to admit I like using it. But they NEVER STOP TRYING TO SELL YOU MORE AND MORE STUFF AND ITS A PAIN IN THE NECK. So for that reason I would recommend looking for one they don't relentlessly hound you to upgrade. My search is on.
