What's New in Version 7.0.15
Better than nothing, just barely. Continues to get worse & worse
When I lived in the city, I subscribed to Comcast cable. And , while they are the worst company on the planet, I have to admit that the one thing they did do well was their app. So, I got spoiled. Now that I'm retired and living in a rural area, DISH is my choice. Their service is great, but their app - not so much. I have DSL with 12 Mbps down, so there's ample bandwidth. Whenever I choose to "transfer" a recording to my device, most of the time it fails and I have to shut the app down and re-open to make the transfer. Then, while playing the transferred show, many times it just hangs up and stops, requiring me to shutdown and restart the app in order to continue watching. And there's no "resume" feature, so I have to search for where I left off watching. Also, the app doesn't always recognize that there is an Internet connection. Just lots of little annoyances that add up to an unpleasant experience overall.
Frustration to no end with this app
This is what pisses me off the most. I wish I could post a picture. Im connected with a green light and all is good but it says connection failed. It takes me jumping through numerous hoops to try to get this app to work. It's always something. It never works like it should. This app is waaaay too much trouble. It's too frustrating to even bother with anymore. Dish needs to get its act together. ALL of the tv apps I have work beautifully but this Dish app is always such a pain in the you know what. I don't even bother with it anymore. Who needs this kind of frustration? Get it together Dish I always thought you were better than this. Been a customer for a long time and I am so disappointed. I'm thinking I don't even need Dish anymore. I could save a ton of money without this frustration. I'm so done with Dish. Sadly his app is pretty much useless.
Wish I could give this zero stars
Both of Dish's Dish Anywhere Products are among the worst technological disasters I've ever seen. Both the app and the web based player crash frequently, and both have been through many updates without any resolution to this problem whatsoever. The iPad app crashes frequently and freezes well watching a program. In the span of three hours last night, the iPad app crashed 18 times. The web-based dish anywhere player is even worse. In its latest evolution, it freezes my computer and requires a hard reboot when launched. For the extortionistic price they charge for TV, this is yet another indicator of how customer-unfriendly and dishonest these companies have become.
