Love the game, but...
I originally got this app to play with my 5 year old grandson, but quickly realized it's not really a game for kids, it's for adults with deep pockets! After a year now, I've begun to lose interest in sending my characters out on the same missions over and over with no real payoff or worthy reward other than an upgrade to the character level. Additionally, I've invested a small fortune (a couple hundred bucks!!) to acquire a number of the characters and complete a "collection" as the only way to get them is to either buy them in a package or they are outrageously expensive through "gem" purchases...again, having to buy, as earning them takes forever! I've earned or bought all the rides my park can possibly hold, and can't expand until the developers decide to open another area, which is extremely frustrating and makes a gamer wonder what's the point of repetitive actions...and lately just leaves me bored with the game. Everyone complains about time constraints on events...too many pop-up ads...and not being able to expand...Please! Listen to your customers - it's a really cute game, but not much fun any more! And those of you who claim others only check in a few times a day and expect to advance...ease up! We have lives/families and live in a dual REAL world, and STILL manage to play heavily every single day!! Come up for some fresh air!
They're doing a good job, but...
I think updates happen so slowly! So slowly in fact that I quit playing this over the school year and started last week again just to get the Zootopia characters. A few movies were added over the year, but updates happen every 1.5 months, which is a few weeks too late I think. I wish they were monthly. This is why I like emoji blitz and crossy road better, it's hard to get bored with them. After you finish everything added within the update, you have a month left until they add something else (and there's a chance it could be underwhelming like when we waited forever for the Cinderella update, only to get 2 characters). In that month it's very possible to get bored. The good thing is they're trying to combat this by briefly releasing old event characters, but there's still plenty of more characters they can add that haven't even been touched yet. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes and I don't know how long it takes for them to get an update complete, so I don't want to tell them to hurry up. That being said, when I logged on after the few months I was gone, it says something that there were only 3 updates to the gameplay since (not counting limited time events).
Used to like this game
I liked the game for the first month or so that I played it. But for the last couple of weeks I've been having trouble with getting it to register when I touch the screen. Far too often, I have to move the screen around 2 or 3 times before it actually registers the areas I'm trying to collect on. I'm also having a problem where some gems have disappeared. I don't rush through screens, so I know I'm not accidentally spending them on completing tasks or anything else. I've waited a long time to accumulate these gems, so for a bunch to disappear is extremely frustrating. It's also annoying that there is so much stuff that is in our list, but we can't actually get it. For example, during the Beauty and the Beast week, I was only one time away from unlocking Belle. But then time ran out, and I didn't get her, so now I have several characters from that movie without her. Very annoying. Too many characters are gem-only purchases as well. And recently, ads suddenly just pop up at any time. Used to be you'd see an ad to get a reward, now they just throw them in your face for nothing. At this point, I'm just done playing this game.
