What's New in Version 3.5
- Encounters are now saved in Sessions instead of each Library
- Fixed bug with loading Notes
This app helps you track initiative, turn order, hit points, all monster and player ac's and saves. Even feats and skills if you want. And a notes section for any extras. You can also mark if someone becomes prone, marked, poisoned, etc. it is not only for 4th edition. It is for any edition d&d. One of the most useful apps i have ever purchased. Even has a dice roller built in. Between it, I4e and cartographer. (Quickroll also very helpful) I have achieved digital d&d. A storyteller feel with video game style battle.
Excellent App; It Just Needs An Update
This is a great app that works well and is for any tabletop game since you can make your own templates. With all of its features: character sheets, monster sheets, initiative and hp tracker (including status effects), and campaign notes with encounters saving, DMTools is excellent for me. My one thing is this app could use an update, since the last time it had one was 2013. Maybe add some more templates like other D&D editions and some other tabletop RPG's (Star Wars maybe?).
System Agnostic Too!
I wrote my own RPG rule system based off 2d6, and if was very difficult finding a tool set to help facilitate my games. This app has a brilliant layout that allows you to nearly completely customize your templates to fit any system, not just the popular ones.
My only criticism and addition I would like to see is the ability to remove the "notes" section from templates. I would also like to see sub templates added so you can have things like NPCs, Player characters and monsters having separate templates but falling under the same parent template.
All in all though this is a great piece of software and I highly recommend it. Less time crouched over my paper and laptop and more time role playing and DMing!
