Great "platform hell" game
Just finished all 49 levels and this game is exactly what I wanted. It is most comparable to super meat boy and was a decent challenge, although I would say it was easier then meat-boy.
The controls can be iffy at first but by level 12 had mastered the controls. The hit boxes on spinning wheels are also slightly large, but they are consistent so they do not disrupt the gameplay.
The level design was great, and I never encountered a level that was luck / frame perfect because it was clear the designer had played through all these levels himself to make them fair.
Awesome buy if you want a handheld meat-boy game that will entertain for a few hours. Looking forward to a future title or more bonus levels!
Painful controls. Awful game.
This game just feels cheap. Like they put no effort at all into the controls at all. The jumping is floaty and I feel like I have absolutely no control over the height of my jumps.
Wall jumping hurts. Bumping into a wall removes all vertical momentum, which is just frustrating. Combined with the lack of control over the jump height, this made me downright angry.
The levels don't reset to a start position when you die. Making the timing of the levels different each time you die. Really frustrating at times.
And then there are the hitboxes. Oh the hitboxes. How much bigger could they possibly be. You die half the screen away from anything pointy. And the art for the spikes makes them not even look dangerous.
All in all this game just has terrible game-feel. I don't really even want to mention Super Meat Boy (one of my favorite games ever) in conjunction with this since this just took gameplay from it and made them worse.
Fun game with major flaw
The hit detection is some of the worst I've seen in any video game ever since I started playing games in the early 80's. It makes a game that should of been great way too hard. Get anywhere near the spikes and you will die doesn't matter if you really hit it or not.
