You’ve been punitively posted to Mars after assaulting your commanding officer, who ordered your unit to fire upon civilians. The Martian marine base acts as security for AGM corporation (AGM), a multi-planetary conglomerate, which is performing secret experiments with teleportation by creating gateways between the two moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos.
Phobos is considered by space marines to be the dullest assignment imaginable: "with no action for eighty million miles, your day consisted of suckin' sand and watchin' flicks in the rec room." This all changes when the AGM experiments go horribly wrong.
Computer systems on Phobos malfunction, Deimos disappears entirely, and "something fragging evil" starts pouring out of the gateway, killing or possessing all AGM personnel. Responding to a frantic distress call from the overrun scientists, the Martian marine unit is quickly sent to Phobos to investigate, where you’re left to guard the hangar with only a pistol while the rest of the group proceeds inside. Over the course of the next few hours, you hear assorted garbled radio messages, gunfire, and screams, followed by silence: "Seems your buddies are dead…or WORSE…"
As the last man standing, your mission is to fight through the entire onslaught of demonic enemies by yourself in order to keep them from attacking Earth.

Take the original DOOM (from '94?), change the monsters, and that's what you get. Sure, the graphics look very 90s (pixellated), but I was able to set my iMac (a 2008 model) so that it worked perfectly. I've bought all three versions that are currently available, and only only found one bug in one level where I got stuck. What a way to re-live those months (years!) that I wasted playing this addictive game. Worth every penny!
Doomed Freedom is Doomed
Worse than the original doom! Not Good. Graphics are horrible.
Great Game very well written
Discovered that in this version of OSX i cant run my Doom Legacy emulator anymore. Ive been a doom player since the 90s and managed to get a working emu for every laptop and computer ive owned since then. This OSX version wont use powerpc apps so im stuck till i can figure out a workaround. but until then… This is VERY VERY close to the Doom i love. Takes some getting used to because there are a lot of blues in the color scheme, but the play, the monster patterns, the graphics movement all feel very authentic to the original. its like they took the same code and changed a few variables. BEST part is the codes we all use and love are also incorporated. IDKFA IDFA IDBEHOLD IDCLIP and so forth, they all work!!! if you cant get authentic doom to work, this should fill the gap quite well. Very pleased. Only drawback i can see sofar is there seems to be no Jump key command, but there is a 180 degree turn command which wouldve saved many a life in the original doom for me.
