Ratings and Reviews
Having the most current weather satellite images as a live wallpaper is a great concept, the idea is simple and effective.
I would love that the app stay loaded when I restart my iMac in the morning. For me the image is on the last one when I shut my iMac down, and the program doesn't automatically load on boot. No icon in the menu bar. Run the app and it works and updates fine. It would be nice if the app gave those options to have in the startup configuration.
Still gets 5 stars, addictive content; almost can't wait for hurrican season to have an immediate track on storms.
Truly neat; a few rough edges
What a neat app! Super simple to use with a great UI. It'd get five stars from me, if not for these quibbles:
1) I only want it to appear on a monitor of my choosing, rather than all connected monitors.
2) The default aspect ratio results in the logo being partially cropped on a 1080p monitor.
Relatedly, the aspect ratio seems to be affected by System Preferences' Fill Screen/Fit to Screen/Stretch to Fill Screen setting for Desktop Background (and I can set different monitors to use my preferred backgrounds as well), but all of those changes get reverted after a minute or two. If they didn't get reverted, this would be a 5-star app for me.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the feedback! Multi-monitor support coming soon, as is something that should address your aspect ratio concerns.
Nice, simple app; needs a bit more attention.
I like the simplicity, but an application shouldn't act in a surprising way: I set it up on one screen (Mission Control desktop, not talking multi-monitor). Then while I was working on a different desktop, when it came time to update the imagery, it also set *that* desktop (previously set to gradient).
I expected this app to *only* set the desktop where I explicitely set a GOES image on – not change other desktops (screens). Had to uninstall for now; hopefully with a little bit of tweaking I'll be able to use it. I will appropriatly add stars, too!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
