Amazing app!

This is a long review but you may find it helpful.
I was having a problem with my PC and needed to download a 7gb ISO file but the only way I could do it was on my iPhone. I tried another app similar to this but I kept getting Checksum errors. Found this app and it worked flawlessly. Mind you I was using an Iphone 4s with the most recent OS and not the fastest internet connection. The download time was about and hour and a half which is not that bad for such a large file. I turned off the lock screen, kept it plugged in and did not use the phone during the download. Not one error occurred. Transferring to iTunes was a different story. To transfer a large file, turn on WiFi transfer while the phone is plugged into the computer USB port. Took a while but it worked.
If you need a dependable, stable app to transfer large files, this is it! And it also has Dropbox support.

As many have stated, this program used to be called “Downloads” before iOS 11 came out, then it became unusable with the new OS. So then our friend Hian Zin Jong releases this update, gives it a different name, and charges more for it. The number one reason I even downloaded “Downloads” before was because of the ability to download movie and song files from the Internet. This new “Files App” has removed that functionality completely and is charging more.

The only reason I downloaded and bought this was because I thought it would be just the same as the old “Downloads”. It’s not. So what you have is a basic Internet browser that has less functionality as the loaded Safari for iOS. Let’s not even get into Mr. Jong’s customer service as there is none and he replies to nothing. “Files App” is constantly crashing for the most mundane functions. It’s literally garbage. As far as I’m concerned this app is a waste of your time and money and you should look elsewhere. Congratulations on scamming so many people out of their money Mr. Wang. Capitalism is alive and well.

Great app, but...

I used the original “Downloads” app by this developer ever since iOS 4 or 6 I believe, and it served as a great place to store all kinds of files, such as ISO’s, ZIPs, MP3s, etc. I was even shocked when it worked in iOS 10 with the 7 Plus. However I was sad to see that it wasn’t compatible with iOS 11, and so I had to remove it.

Found out about “Files,” and I thought, okay cool. It looks like it works with iOS 11. So I downloaded it and expected something totally different. It was the exact same interface and usability, so I had two thoughts:

1. If it’s the exact same design and such, why not just update the old app to work with iOS 11?

2. When I downloaded the old app and purchased the full version of it, why should I have to pay for the full version of a carbon copy app, at two dollars more? I know that’s not how the App Store works but you should give those that have been concurrent users a break.

Overall it’s a great app to store files in and a great music player since it has background support, especially with the file access through both iTunes and through a local browser wirelessly. But the $4.99 full version upgrade feels like a stab in the back for having bought the previous app’s full version.
