Using DraftCode you can develop PHP applications completely offline on your iPad or iPhone. And now you can import your source code too.

DraftCode includes standard PHP 5.6.30 (compiled from source) and includes all popular PHP extensions like MySQL, SQLite, Curl, OpenSSL, SOAP and more. (A complete phpinfo output is available on our website).

DraftCode's runtime is a full webserver environment. It runs real world PHP code that uses POST/GET, sessions, cookies, redirects, AJAX etc. all right inside the App. You get instant feedback on errors in your code or you can review session content from within the App without adding logging to your code.

The output of your PHP is rendered using WebKit, the same rendering engine powering Mobile Safari.
In conjunction with PHP you can also use your normal stack of JavaScript and CSS as you would on any other webserver.

DraftCode includes a code editor with PHP syntax coloring in a dark and light colour scheme, and adjustable font size. Keyboard extensions that offer quick access to common code snippets and characters help the coding process with the on-screen keyboard.

Import your existing projects as zip archives or individual files via "Open in..." from other Apps, via the Document Picker which gives access to all available file locations including iCloud, or via iTunes file sharing.

DraftCode lets you manage files and folders in your workspace including zipping and unzipping of archives, moving files and folders around and sending files to other iOS applications.

DraftCode fully supports multitasking and working with an external keyboard, including keyboard shortcuts.

DraftCode includes WordPress 4 as an installable package. With just one tap you can run WordPress offline and develop themes and plugins for the popular platform.

DraftCode includes phpMyAdmin as an installable package to connect to external MySQL databases.

DraftCode includes phpLiteAdmin as an installable package to manage and investigate local SQLite databases.

Great start but iOS falls short?

Ok, l know this is a huge undertaking and iOS is severely limited so far as a development tool. What issue this app seems to suffer from is as a developer, I can’t really work on a plugin in WordPress while WP is running.

Pretty ineffective to have to start and stop WP each time to edit a file and then see the result rendered.

Update: I contacted the developer and he has been VERY responsive to my concerns. He has provided some ideas for workflow that seem acceptable. Running web apps on iOS is no small feat. My hope is that this app will be well supported and the product will continue to be updated.

Hard to tell what it's capable of

There's little to no documentation or tutorials to show off its potential.

Local Webserver

I agree with the other folks, this is definitely a powerful web server for the iPad. awesome! I was searching for an app that was similar to MAMP, and this is filling my needs. I know this is geared toward PHP, but it has the potential to be some much more (e.g. full stack syntax highlighting, file management vs. defaulted php extensions). My recommendation to the developer is to expand on this foundation. Some enhanced UX, power user/work flow enhancements. more focus on managing projects. For instance, I created a new html, css, js, php project (took a little while to set everything up. A ’template’ project configuration would be so slick) and would love to render the project (like switching to the browser and hitting refresh) instead of rendering the file that you’re viewing. I have to traverse back to the index file and run that file to see my changes. thanks for the work you’ve put into this; can’t wait to see where it goes.
