Worth the cost
This app is a great productivity tool. I work in a hospital, where I need to type a lot of notes. When I get some downtime during the day I jot down some notes into this app and email them to myself. I find that the dictation is fairly accurate, although you still need to proofread to make sure that everything is accurate. I find that the algorithm used for this app is much more accurate than apples built-in dictation function. On top of that, I am able to dictate for a longer period of time and have access to commands that I would otherwise not have with apples function.
One area of improvement is to include voice commands for common punctuation including quotes, parentheses, numbered lists and other symbols.
Amazing productivity tool
I have been using Dragon Anywhere for a couple months now and I continue to be amazed by the accuracy of the voice recognition. I use Dragon Anywhere on my iPad as a part of my daily workflow. I use GoodNotes for handwritten notes during meetings and then I use Dragon Anywhere after the meeting to quickly expand on my handwritten notes while the thoughts are fresh in my mind. I have found that it is allowed me to capture my notes in a much more detailed way.
I also do some blogging and I've really enjoyed leaning back in my armchair and using my iPad with Dragon Anywhere to write articles.
I also really like the new Evernote integration – I'm a big fan and regular user of Evernote, so this made my notetaking even more efficient.
Some people have been complaining about the price of the service ($15 per month or $150 per year) – and at that price, it clearly isn't a generic consumer tool. For me, it is worth it for the dramatic improvements I've seen in my notes in the increased output of my writing.
I'd love to see some kind of direct integration into email in a future version.
This is the killer app
This is the one Ive been waiting to be created: You talk. It understands you and It types what you said. It understands most everything I say and what it doesn't it make it easy to correct with voice or dictionary of saved words and continues learning as I use it. The implementation of all this requires little study and is very intuitive. It's the first app that I've used that I don't have to wait around for: either correcting what went wrong or waiting for my voice to get processed into text. I still have to put in a little more effort and study the full offering of editing commands, after that I will have finally reached the holy keyboard-less Grail.
