Old heroes never die, they just go bald.
From Muteki Corporation, creators of Battle of Pirate Bay and developers of many well-loved iOS titles comes our latest game, Dragon Fantasy.
Experience an all-new adventure on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch! Join Ogden, a hero who's been written off as past his prime as he goes on a new adventure to reclaim his past glory. Engage in battle with dozens of strange, silly and scary monsters in the caves, castles and dungeons of an ancient evil. Meet warriors, princes, pirates, zombies and crazy old woodsmen in an epic journey that's not quite like any RPG you've played before.
Authentic 8-bit artwork and an original soundtrack by renowned Bay Area 8-bit musician, Crashfaster keeps the game true to its retro roots.
What's New in Version 2.0
Upgraded to 16-bits! Added new graphics, sounds, dungeons, and achievements!
I read an article about this game on TouchArcade tonight and it looked like a neat game and since I love RPG/D&D type games, I figured I'd give it a chance, despite its high price. Needless to say, this is $7.99 well spent!
I absolutely love that it's Universal, has Game Center achievements, and has the iCloud save feature, so I can play on my iPad and then pick up where I left off on my iPhone. So many Universal apps don't have iCloud and IMO, why bother making a game Universal if there's no iCloud feature? Also, I rarely play iOS games that don't have Game Center achievements, so I'm really glad this game has them or else I wouldn't have bought it.
Anyways, don't let the price tag turn you away from this game, it's definitely worth it!
I've played this game pretty much from the start, back when I had an iPod Touch. Now with my iPhone, I got this great game again to find a massive update to the graphics and music. It looks great and is just as fun as I remember, however, the update seems to have made it INCREDIBLY difficult to gain any sort of gold. I don't remember the older version being this difficult, I had to grind quite a bit in the first area with Ogden just to be able to buy the Hammer that only costs 70 gold. It isn't broken or anything like that, I just don't remember gold pieces being so scarce. Mr. Rock Monster only drops 1 gold. ONE. That just seems ridiculous. I'm hoping it alleviates further in the game, so if it does the game deserves 5 stars.
There is more heart in this home brew iOS game than there is in many big name titles. This update is not only refreshing but a perfect example in the direction that these games should be going in. With the addition of game play, being able to switch graphics from 16 bit to 8 bit, and iCloud support, this game deserves praise.
