Dragon Remote Microphone
By Nuance Communications
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
The Dragon Remote Microphone app turns your iOS device into a wireless microphone, making it easier and more comfortable for individuals to use their Dragon Desktop software. Users can now opt to use the remote microphone app as an alternative to a supported headset.
This app can be used with Dragon NaturallySpeaking for the PC (Home Edition and higher for Versions 11.5 and higher) and Dragon Dictate for the Mac (Versions 2.5 and higher).

Dragon Dictate: http://www.nuance.com/for-individuals/by-product/dragon-for-mac
The app requires a WiFi connection to the PC running the appropriate version of Dragon software.
What's New in Version 1.4
Now supports Spanish and Italian.
OK, I am a bit surprised….
I have been using MacSpeech and then eventually Dragon Dictate, now up to 3.0.2; previously I had used the included microphone, and for a long time the Plantronics Calisto Bluetooth (with which I have had MANY problems). I had downloaded this app previously, but other than just playing with it hadn't bothered to learn and use it until recently. I was surprised to find out that once I configured and connected the app, it turns out that it seems work better with DD 3.0 than the Calisto, which had been my (somewhat lame) workhorse. So, I am finding it very good, but with the usual complaints:
-Yes, you need to have the app automatically turn off Auto Lock !!
-The microphone setup seems more accurate, but there is a slight lag of dictation showing up after speaking, which I have not seen with the Calisto or other mics
-If I stop dictating and close the app, you have to go back and manually reconnect to the computer (in this case a MacBook Pro Retina); the old instances of connected profiles are still there and you have to delete them, starting a new connection.
Overall, I am surprised to see this otherwise working well. As usual, it would be nice if Nuance would get off their duffs and REALLY support the Mac version of their software, instead of treating it like an ugly stepchild. Certainly if there were a viable alternative to Nuance/Dragon I wouldn't hesitate to switch.
Can't connect to computer with iOS6
I cannot get this software to connect to my Mac (OS10.7.5). The app description says that "the app requires a Wi-Fi connection to the PC running the appropriate version of Dragon software." Sounds simple. But setting it up is not. The Dragon website says, "To make it easy to prepare your device to find your computer, the Dragon Remote Microphone application supports Bonjour, a network protocol for Windows that allows your device to automatically find your computer." Well, it does not automatically find it, even though I'm sure that the Mac and my iPhone are on the same network. The website also says, "If Bonjour isn’t available or functioning, you can manually enter information about your computer into the Dragon Remote Microphone application following the steps provided." Well, I cannot find the "steps provided" other than fields to fill in. It asks for the IP address, the computer port, and gives a "use a barcode" option. Entering the IP address alone does not help. And I have no clue what the other two options are about. In sum, I agree with another reviewer who simply said, "won't work with iOS 6." At least I gave it a shot. Minimally, more setup instructions are needed from Nuance on this.
Come on … how about an update?
UPDATE: Still waiting for an update that will disable auto lock -- what is wrong with this company -- last updated in Nov. 2012? Still uses the iPhone 4 screen size. Come on. Downgrade to one star til you show up with an update that fixes the issues that have been around for almost a year!
This is a great application, and makes Dragon Dictate on my Mac amazing and enjoyable to use.
However, I am only giving it 3 stars right now, because the app should disable auto lock when it is open (this is possible, as other apps like GoodReader do it). Right now, when auto lock occurs as you are dictating, the app stops communicating with the computer--not great if you're wandering around the room dictating, and you return to find out that the last five minutes didn't go through…
Also, would be great if the app were updated to take advantage of the iPhone 5's screen size, and if the app had a bigger on off button (as that is nearly the only button you use on the app!)
Thanks, Dragon, for a great app--fix the last bits, and I'll update to 5 stars!
