Description

This easy-to-use app appeals to children’s enjoyment in drawing pictures and it encourages writing! Developed by educational publisher, Evan-Moor, the app provides 30 drawing and writing activities—at three levels of difficulty.

• Using digital tools, children follow a simple step-by-step drawing lesson to draw a picture, such as a bird, koala, dragon, race car, or castle.
• Then, a related writing prompt encourages a child to write about the completed picture.
• Each drawing task and corresponding writing activity offers three levels of difficulty. Writing activities move from simple to more complex to encourage reluctant writers.

Additional features you’ll love:
• A Free Draw section allows children to create their own pictures.
• Parents or teachers may also create their own lessons within the app.
• A print feature enables children to print their completed pictures and/or stories.

Ideal for children in grades 1–3, this app provides endless opportunities for creative drawing and writing. It is designed for independent practice in the classroom or home—and for learning on the go!

Love to Draw

Fire@WillsMom

I downloaded this app at the suggestion of my son. Although I don't have any little ones at home anymore he knows that I like to keep apps on my iPad for when my friends kids come over. As a 52-year-old, I love to draw so I figured I would play around with the app. I love the simplicity of it, the varied difficulty levels and the fact that you can create a storyboard is an awesome option for any homeschoolers. The ability to save your work and print later is also an awesome feature which allows parents for bragging rights as to their child's creativity. The added bonus is the child can then write a story about their picture which encourages creative thinking and develops writing skills. I highly recommend the app.

My kids love this app and I feel great about their screen time when it is spent on a quality learning opportunity like this. I was surprised to discover that my four year old and eight year old could both work at their skill level. There are many different levels of difficulty so it works for everyone. For this price, it is a great creative writing tool that will have your kids creating and writing and not even realizing it.

Draw, Then Write

stevenater6

Great app!!!!! I have a child with Asperger's and it is difficult for me to get him to write or draw anything. The first time on the app, I almost couldn't get him to stop!!! He practiced for over an hour on the app! It was a great match!!! I highly recommend the app for family use and homeschool!
