Summertime's coming, get ready for drawing in sand on the beach...
"Sand drawings are elegant geometric patterns produced directly on the ground which serve to transmit a wealth of traditional knowledge about local history, indigenous rituals and cosmologies, kinship systems, natural phenomena or farming techniques." - http://www.vanuatuculture.org/
Drawing on sand, on the other hand, helps to relax and often brings a sense of pleasant and peaceful feeling. The simulated sand drawing effect on "Drawing on Sand" (as shown on screenshots) is probably one of the nicest available for iPhone or iPod touch. What's more, "Drawing on Sand" allows you to save the last hand drawn painting so that you can review "stroke by stroke".
"Drawing on Sand" dosen't limit you to drawing with your finger. You can also let the app produce elegant patterns like a "simple sand pendulum" does. Simply tap on the pendulum on the lower left corner, and it will move to the centre. You then drag the pendulum to a desired direction, release and watch as the pendulum sway and product the patterns.
Use "Drawing on Sand" to make your own Zen drawings right on your iPhone, anytime, anywhere. Or wouldn't it be sweet to "Sand" a heart to your valentine?
* High quality sand drawing effect
* Simulated "Simple Sand Pendulum" with true physics which produces special geometric patterns
* Save the last hand drawn painting for replay (Press the "Save" button to save)
* Stroke by stroke replay
* Shake to clear drawings
* Capture and share^
^ To capture or share your sand drawing/writing as image, simply press the "Home" and "Sleep" buttons at the same time. Your sand drawing will be saved as image in you Photo Album. Select "Email Photo" in Photo Album to share.

What's New in Version 1.4
Improved "Save" function in response to user feedback:
1) Strokes made immediately after "Replay" will now be appended to the replayed strokes. In previous releases, only new stroke made AFTER replay will be saved while replayed strokes will be discarded.
2) To avoid new strokes being appended to replayed strokes, user should clear all replayed strokes (i.e. by shaking the iPhone/iPod touch) before making new strokes/drawings after "Replay".
This app tends to get boring, because of the lack of sound and colors. I try to dot the i's I draw and it doesn't even show up. I also think they should make a library where you can save your drawings. Good idea, but poorly carried out. Also they should make it so that you can adjust the width that you draw with. I can barely see anything I draw! Poor instructions for the app. You buy it and just kinda begin to draw.. They do not tell you how to work it or anything! Overall this app was ok, it definitely should be free though..
No functional point to this app
I was looking to create some pics of phrases in the sand for a slide show but you can't even save the "drawings" you create with this app. What's the point of having a save button? And what's the point of this app - just to watch yourself draw in the sand? Pointless! There should be some sort of menu option or help prompt to figure out how to use this app, but again there doesn't appear to really be any functions to explain other than how to remove it from your phone. Delete!
Junk. Waste of money
So all this does is let you draw in the sand. I was surprised at how basic this is. How can I get my dollar back. I mean there are apps out there that do much much more for free. This should be free. You can even save the pictures without the save button etc showing. Of course there is no real save anyway. I think this must be the worst app I have ever got. Total junk. Why not just find some sand image off the web and draw in that with a light brown color.
