Editors’ Notes

A deceptively simple physics puzzler, Drop Flip has you turn your screen into wacky Rube Goldberg contraptions to send a ball into a bucket. Since no path is a straight shot, you’ll need to figure out which obstacles to manipulate, and which to leave alone, to clear every level. Gorgeous minimalist graphics, steadily increasing complexity, and multiple ways to solve most puzzles deliver a whimsical experience full of clever challenges.

Like a maelstrom - but a gentle one!

I thought I'd give this a quick try this morning (it being Christmas and all...) and found myself fascinated and mesmerized by it very rapidly. Dead simple (at first) it rewards with little jilts of serotonin and dopamine with each successful puzzle. And getting one on the first try makes you feel like a champ!
Just nudge a bit here and there, flip that, move that (and sometimes, things are just simply in the way or can be ignored completely!) and be rewarded with that "bing" of the ball in the bucket!
It's not really Rube Goldberg (more like a marble drop exercise), but it is great practice for physics and eyeballing things (probably like playing pool...).
I can Imagine next steps being different substrates (harder or softer, or with greater or lesser rolling resistance) and objects you can rotate to any angle!

Top Notch Puzzle Game

In a word: Terrific! Simple design, clean graphics, solid sounds, nice colors, along with stimulating and increasingly challenging levels all make for a very fun experience. Two suggestions. First, enhance touch responsiveness overall, especially on the menu and pause screens. Second, there are times when I like to return to level one and replay through the game. When redoing the levels, it kicks me back to the level select screen instead of bringing me to the "Next Level" screen, which it does the first time through. I find it leads to an inconvenient and clunky game flow when replaying. I may be nitpicking, but I still give this game a solid five star review. If those fixes are implemented, I consider it a perfect game. I wish there were more titles like this in the App Store!
