Effortlessly capture and mark up screenshots, make screencasts, and share any files you need with friends, colleagues, and clients. Take notes, capture whole websites as an image, shorten links, and do so much more! The tool is quick and intuitive to use. Its integrations with tools like Slack or Gmail make it so much more useful. Give it a go today and see how effective remote collaboration can be!

Droplr is a collaboration tool for Mac that caters for the needs of anyone working remotely. It helps communicate effectively or send necessary information putting minimum effort. The tool is also designed to work well with major communication platforms or tools, so that you can use it keeping your current workflow.

"With an incredible feature set, active development, and a sustainable business model, Droplr is our favorite way to share files, make simple annotations, and track links." - The Sweet Setup

How it Works

To capture a screenshot or make a screencast, use convenient hotkeys or choose appropriate feature icon in the menu bar and choose a feature icon. Once you do that, a crosshair appears. Select the area on your screen with the crosshair and capture a screen or start recording. The screenshots and screencasts are ready to send immediately after you finish capturing them. It couldn’t be more convenient!

To share a file, just drag the file into the Droplr icon in your Mac menu bar. Once you do that, your file is instantly uploaded to your Droplr account in the cloud and a link to it is copied. Paste the link into the communication platform you use and send. Saving the files in a cloud and sending the access to it in a form of a link makes it possible to send even large files within seconds.

They need to get it together

I've chatted with them a lot - more than many companies. Stuff just doesn't work as advertised. I get that they're a small team, but it's tough to recommend because of the reliability. Basic use? Sure - power user? Look elsewhere, seriously. They seem to be in over their heads and problems take a looooong time to fix. They're very kind, but they don't seem to have enough people to fix the issues that are in the app.

Great idea, Great Customer Support People, Product Did Not Perform

The product did not work for me. I am a teacher and use a lot of screen shots for instruction. I thought the easy short screencast videos would make it easier to answer student questions by email exchange. I received a great respose from students when using the service but during the trial I used up the trial data cap without knowing it. This made most of the features unusable. There was no warning I was reaching my cap. Once that cap was violated,no amount of work by customer service could fix it. The people trying to help me resolve the problem were responsive and great to work with, but they received little help from their technical staff. Even after submitting my credit card and paying for the service, it did not work. A free month was offered, still the service did not work. I finally attempted to delete my account and got an error message referring me to support. The trial was trying. I’m glad for those who found this product helpful. For me, it was anything but helpful. I do not recommend.

Droplr is an intregal part of my workflow and LIFE itself!

This is my go-to screenshot app. Literally just last week, I was wishing it had annotation capabilities. And just like that, POOF, it does. I use this app dozens of times a day. I hated having to open Skitch (which I just barely use anymore, as it takes way too long to generate a URL) … just to send a client an annotated screenshot. Now I can uninstall Skitch. I am a happy Droplr camper!

UPDATE: I am updating my review now years later to chime in again and sing the praises of the Droplr team and their wonderful app. I use this literally every day. It never fails me. And the team is great about always adding new features. I just could not get through my daily tasks of life and work without this great application!
