The tool is also designed to work well with major communication platforms or tools, so that you can use it keeping your current workflow.
"With an incredible feature set, active development, and a sustainable business model, Droplr is our favorite way to share files, make simple annotations, and track links." - The Sweet Setup
How it Works
To capture a screenshot or make a screencast, use convenient hotkeys or choose appropriate feature icon in the menu bar and choose a feature icon. Once you do that, a crosshair appears. Select the area on your screen with the crosshair and capture a screen or start recording. The screenshots and screencasts are ready to send immediately after you finish capturing them. It couldn’t be more convenient!
To share a file, just drag the file into the Droplr icon in your Mac menu bar. Once you do that, your file is instantly uploaded to your Droplr account in the cloud and a link to it is copied. Paste the link into the communication platform you use and send. Saving the files in a cloud and sending the access to it in a form of a link makes it possible to send even large files within seconds.

Great idea, Great Customer Support People, Product Did Not Perform
The product did not work for me. I am a teacher and use a lot of screen shots for instruction. I thought the easy short screencast videos would make it easier to answer student questions by email exchange. I received a great respose from students when using the service but during the trial I used up the trial data cap without knowing it. This made most of the features unusable. There was no warning I was reaching my cap. Once that cap was violated,no amount of work by customer service could fix it. The people trying to help me resolve the problem were responsive and great to work with, but they received little help from their technical staff. Even after submitting my credit card and paying for the service, it did not work. A free month was offered, still the service did not work. I finally attempted to delete my account and got an error message referring me to support. The trial was trying. I’m glad for those who found this product helpful. For me, it was anything but helpful. I do not recommend.
Droplr is an intregal part of my workflow and LIFE itself!
This is my go-to screenshot app. Literally just last week, I was wishing it had annotation capabilities. And just like that, POOF, it does. I use this app dozens of times a day. I hated having to open Skitch (which I just barely use anymore, as it takes way too long to generate a URL) … just to send a client an annotated screenshot. Now I can uninstall Skitch. I am a happy Droplr camper!
UPDATE: I am updating my review now years later to chime in again and sing the praises of the Droplr team and their wonderful app. I use this literally every day. It never fails me. And the team is great about always adding new features. I just could not get through my daily tasks of life and work without this great application!
Version 5.0.1 Unusable. I’m done.
My previous review:
"Rated as 1 star, deserves 0 in it’s current state. Completely unusable. After updating to 5.0: Vanishes from Toolbar. Does not show up in Dock. Cannot be launched from Applications. Cannot be launched from Launchpad. In both instances, shows up momentarily then vanishes from toolbar. Restarted iMac, issue still same. May yet try an uninstall/reinstall, but not expecting success.
Was not planning on writing negative review, but at time of writing Droplr have had 24+ hrs to reply to support request through their website, and have not replied.”
Recieved response from developer via app store:
"Hi Matt, sorry to hear that. It sounds like this is an issue with El Capitan. We're working on a fix for this and we should have it out shortly. Hopefully this will get things back to normal for you.”
Well, guess what- The fix for El Capitan (2 weeks later?) does exactly the same thing: nothing. Uninstall/reinstall does not work. How in the world would this compel me to move up to the paid version of service? Also, should add that the developer has never replied to the support request via their website, only here in the app store. So, yeah, thanks for nothing Droplr, I’m dropping your app. It doesn’t work.
Still same review. Zero stars if I could.
We're pretty bummed that this didn't work for you. We're not a team of hundreds of engineers or anything but we'd love to continue to try to fix this problem for you. It sucks that you didn't hear back on the support channel. I'd love to try to diagnose what exactly is going on. If you're still up for it, hit me up personally at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll provide assistance.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
