Very fun! A little buggy.

I've probably put 10 hours into this game since picking it up and I'll be spending even more. It is very fun and totally worth the money.

I didn't give 5 stars because I noticed a couple of inconsistencies in combat. For instance, First Strike doesn't always give you the first strike, despite the item description. It's unclear if that's correct or if there is a bug. Also, there are times when I've been damaged even when there is a knight on the board to take my damage (and I wasn't poisoned).

The last thing I'd like to point out is that using multiple spells at once which "debuff" enemies is buggy. If you put the one that deals damage over time on multiple targets, only the first one takes the damage and the others never do, even after the first dies. There is nothing to indicate this doesn't work.

Not there yet...

I got this game 2 versions ago and loved it. It was just hard enough, and I felt a sense of accomplishment when I got to level 25 for an unlock. Then they updated it and made it so easy my first try and I got so deep I unlocked all the characters and made enough money to fully upgrade several characters. This version went the other way. It's so hard as to not be fun. As an example, using the assassin with skills at 4/2/4/1 I ought to be dominating at least the first few levels. By the time I max it out I would think I should feel like level 50 for the next unlock should be doable. However, I have played 4 times and averaged about level 6. The one time I got to 10 I got really lucky on several drops - regen ring and 2 resurrect stones.

Hopefully the next balancing update will be just right.

Still not a fan of the new update

Update: Latest update allows you to get to level 100+ with little difficulty. Unfortunately it gets boring by the time you reach level 50. After level 50 no new enemies or concepts are introduced so it becomes very redundant. They need to bring back the brutal difficulty level and create an ending people can strive for.

I used to enjoy this game, but like everyone else on here, I can't stand the latest update. This game used to be challenging and balanced. Now it is far too easy and not nearly as fun. People are now ending their games not because they run out of hearts but because they run out of patience.

Why delete the critical hit stat? Was it so you could introduce the new mood system, which nobody enjoys? And what is up with the new weapon system? It is gimmicky and unnecessary. Why poison players when you give us more antidotes than we can possibly use?

The game was fine previously. It merely needed to be expanded, not overhauled altogether. All we needed were more monsters, more playable characters, and more ways to upgrade! It might also be nice to have a backstory and an ending we can work towards. Just my two cents.
