An amazing and truly unique game.
If you ever liked dungeon crawler games of the past, such as champions of norrath or gauntlet, then you will love this app. You fight through dungeons in a story, defend your stronghold with minions you've encountered against other players raids as well as a slew of daily/weekly events and challenges and holiday events as well. Always something to do, always nice to upgrade and receive new gear and minions. And the recent update has made this game better then ever. With a very smooth 60 fps option for compatible devices as well as many tweaks that have vastly improved the feel of the game. Dive in and push hard and you'll feel accomplished and satisfied soon enough. My advice as a recently graduated new player is to ask questions and take any tips from experienced players that you can get.
Downright disrespectful and fraudulent
Chance of dropping a legendary item or champion from a chest is anywhere from 0.1-0.5%. A website posted this information and was sued by Gameloft to take this information down. Their "lottery system" is absolutely rigged such that you need to spend ~7-10 thousand dollars to get all the worthwhile gear. Don't waste your money here folks.
Developers frequently put out new material before patching existing glitches/exploits. The Devs are so stubborn that the top 2 guilds in weekly guild wars practically have to *beg* them for the rewards that were earned with massive team effort.
Customer service has never helped to resolve a single issue I've had satisfactorily, they ask you to post a screen shot, shuffle you around to different people, then deny you any recompense for events clearly at fault of the developers. Truly the worst customer service experience you will experience on this earth.
The reward for playing daily and often is so minuscule it simply doesn't matter.
This is the most sickening example of a freemium pay2win model I have ever seen in my life - it panders to the 1% so heavily it serves as a shining example of how far greed can steer development of something with otherwise true potential.
China gets 5500gems/100$, whereas North America gets 1400gems/100$...
If I could ascertain what the Paris, France equivalent of the 'Better Business Bureau' was - I'd have several legitimate complaints to file.
Enjoyable, low-stress game play
The gameplay is fun, and daily/weekly challenges keep you coming back for more. DH5 is enjoyable as a free game and with in app purchases. Plenty of progress can be made without spending money in the game. The guild war feature and the ability to raid other players offers a nice blend between individual game play and multiplayer.
Sometimes there are minor glitches in the game, but these are frequently fixed with updates.
All around, a good game worth playing.
