The app could be better.
When the app works, it is great. But most of the time the app barely ever works. Loading money on to the app is always an issue, so is sending the order to be ready. Also I find it weird the app doesn’t have a refund option for the store. The app is a great idea but has many errors and glitches. I think the system needs to be updated completely. In early March 2019 on a Tuesday morning, I tried to place my online order, the app said it had an error in sending the order to be made. So I placed my order inside, at the counter. After I paid off of the app, an employee who was about to start working on my order said she just finished an online order for the same exact order. I had already paid for 2 orders and I was told that there is no way for me to refund one of the orders to my app because once the order is paid for it can’t be refunded. I fount this odd but that’s what the manager told me. So I was told I can hold the receipt and come back the next day and they will make my order or I can take both orders now. The next week another issue happened in the store and was unable to get my order. I asked for a refund again through the app and was told there is no way to do so I can hold my receipt or comeback later. I was extremely upset about this because I just simply wanted my refund for the order I was unable to get. Eventually the manager gave me a cash refund. I think the app just needs a whole new software update with improvements and adjustments.
Great app when it works, but it almost never does. Almost every time I go to reload the value on my card I experience an app error, and in result of this, I cannot purchase any food or drink that morning. This is quite angering especially when you’re relying on the app to quickly pick up breakfast and coffee on an early commute. When I’m not experiencing issues reloading a value, I am receiving error messages when doing something as simple as placing an order. I can’t even count how many times if received messages saying app error or technical difficulties. It’s very unfortunate because I am a loyal customer and I want to use the app, yet I’m running out of patience because these issues are not new. These situations have been problematic forever now. I expected them to improve after the app aged a little, figuring it was a learning curve for the designers of the app. However, after all this time and constant complaints, they have still not fixed these errors. I have about run out of patience at this point and it’s unacceptable to seldom work. The app has potential and I love it when it works, but until these major issues are resolved, I hate to say this, I will be ordering to Starbucks. I am a loyal Dunkin customer and I spend exuberant amounts of money there (and I want to), but at this point, Starbucks is far superior in the mobile ordering system, and my commute in the morning does not allow for an in store order.
I have to draw the line with missing money
This app used to be good. I downloaded it when it first came out and suffered through the “growing pains” as it was developed to do more than just pay for your orders. Over the years there have been inconveniences with crashing and I loyalty suffered through them all because overall it was a good app. Was a good app. Long story short, I went to reload my card one morning through the Apple Pay option. I received the apple confirmation and the new balance showed on my card. When I got to the window, the scanner didn’t said not enough money. I paid the remaining balance in my card figuring maybe this was just another one of those times where the system was slow and needed to catch up. It never did. Money was taken from my account for the app and never put in my card. I contacted customer support and provided them all the requested I formation there response “too many reloads. I should reload a larger amount”. No thank you. You stole this $10 from me and now I only wonder how many other times this has happened since I have been blindly reloaded when prompted. It’s been a week and the money still isn’t on my card and it hadn’t been returned to my account. I love my Dunkin and the app was good, but I need to draw the line at stealing my money. Goodbye Dunkin. We had a great run.
