Better than the online version, but still very flawed

On the one hand, I'm very thankful they came out with the app, because for some reason the highlighting/drawing features and sometimes even the page turning features would not work on my laptop (which is <1 year old, so compatibility should not be an issue). However, the app still has some issues... I wish you didn't have to re-select the "pen color" and size with every. single. page. It's incredibly tedious and I feel like I have spent more time trying to figure out how to use this online book than I have even studying biology. To be honest, I am awful at processing information on a screen. I do much better when the info is printed out in front of me, and the only option I have found with this book is to purchase a print version from the company which seems to only be available after you have already purchased the online version. As far as I can tell, you can't even print chapters that you need. It's all a huge money-making scam in my opinion. Overall, I pretty much can't stand this format, and I plan to talk to my school's biology department to recommend a change after this semester. Truly a terrible, non-functional system.

Worst concept ever

My professor wanted to "try" out this online textbook, which turned out to be the worst decision he could have made and what will probably cost other students a decent grade. They must be paying him or something. What a horrible concept. The online version is a PIA that you have to click through page by page - and units end up being a few hundred pages long. It's slow online (cloud based) and doesn't allow offline use. I HOPED the app would be better but it's the same horrible design and it just constantly crashes. Don't download the whole book, do it by unit or else it freezes. I loatheeee this book and am incredibly frustrated that it's required since it's so impossible to use. This whole concept is a scam

I'm going to fail this class

My school assigned this book reading. I can't even download the book to make it available offline, it never loads a single page, and when it finally does the interface is not set up for reading different chapters. Like you have to flip page by page or click on the finicky table of contents which also NEVER LOADS.
