It has a playable keyboard with studio sound quality and a note view for superior visualization.

No need to be an expert, Ear Trainer is suitable for all users from beginner to very advanced. No matter what level your musical hearing skills are Ear Trainer will help to hone them.

*****
The new update is a game changer. This is the most comprehensive ear trainer on the store in terms of quantity of drills, statistics keeping, and breadth of topics covered. I'm a professional classical musician and I use this every day on my commute. Now that they addressed the only features that were lacking it is a must-buy. Well done developers!
----------
***** Must Have!!!
This is the best Ear Trainer of all I tried in appstore, everything works just perfectly. If you are interested in improving your musical hearing you must have it.
----------
***** Great little ear training app, exactly what I needed, at a very good price.
--------
***** I love those chord progressions
I was hoping that someone would make an ear training app that did chord progression but I didn't think anyone would, then you did,
--------
**** I'm in my second third semester as a music major and I have to say, this is a great app for any music major, or anyone looking for ear training. I like that I'm able to switch between different instruments, it makes hearing the notes on the instrument you're use to a bit easier for me.
-------
**** Excellent outil

Sadists?

I was really excited to download this program and was enjoying the process till it came to trying to hear the difference between a minor, or major 3rd on iPhone speakers. I get the impression that the app designers are enjoying the frustration they are inflicting. Not only do you have to try and hear a half step difference between the intervals 3-4 octaves apart, they seem to make most of the exercises "colored" by making the major chords end on black keys sounding dark, and minor ones sound more major by the notes they chose, and there's no way to get better at it. I breezed thru most of the other exercises, but this one I'm actually getting worse results with every run thru. It's all I can do to not smash my phone. Also, nothing very fun about the app. I thought there would be some game play. Not. Very cut and dry.

One of my favorite apps

I use this app every single day, and my ability to hear pitch relationships has gotten much stronger. It's not a "game," but it is a lot of fun, like any well made tool. I don't know of another ear training app that does chord progressions. I always look forward to their updates, because they sometimes come with new lessons. Maybe some tutorials to explain some of the theory behind the lessons would be interesting and helpful. But if you are already studying music, and using this as a supplement to hone your skills, this is perfect.

Worth the price

Many ear training programs are really quite dull or they are too narrow in what is studied. This program is neither dull nor narrow. In fact, it is quite extensive regarding the various aspects of ear training and pitch. I have been using this for about a week and incorporate it into my daily music practice. The only thing I would want is to have a violin sound, although I do quite like the piano. I have not tried out the guitar sound, but I don't think I will be disappointed.
