Help me Jeff Galloway, you're my only hope
I'm a massive Star Wars fan and when I saw how awesome the Star Wars rundisney events were, I knew I needed to start to train. I've been losing weight for a year & a half, taking the slow & steady approach, but I needed a Yoda to make my dreams of getting shiny Star Wars medals (and a healthier lifestyle) a reality. Enter Jeff Galloway. I started the app, and as a non runner who was struggling to combat the sedimentary lifestyle, immediately found that I could achieve more that I assumed by using his Run Walk Run method. Within 2 weeks I had shaved 45 seconds off of my mile split and lost 5 pounds, uber plus side... I wasn't dead or injured! Yippie!!! This app changed my perspective on what I could accomplish and by hearing Jeff Galloway's constant encouraging and guiding, you too will realize you really can do it. Now, with my new confidence, I'm training for the Princess 5k & 10k which will be before the Dark Side Marathon weekend and with all luck, I'll be able to complete both of those races and the half marathon as well! If you still need more Jeff (cause really who doesn't) check out his website and immensely helpful books. He also does personalized training, which might be my next step after attending his Runner School. This app has turned me into a Jeff Galloway fangirl! I have 0 regrets about that and neither will you when you start training with your Yoda & mine, the man, the myth, the rundisney legend, Jeff Galloway.
This apps work OK for the first round through the 5K. It had many issues as flagged by others especially around music. It plays the same few songs over and over and won’t let you access your music. This was OK the first time through. As I tried the second mode to improve my 5K time the app didn’t function at all. It didn’t track intervals which is kind of the point. It’s not functioning midway through and didn’t track my run at all. Very frustrating. The app hasn’t been updated in years. The one positive is that I realize the lack of functionality before I bought the 10K, half marathon, and Marathon package. I have most of the Lolo apps and they’re good quality – except they seem to have been abandoned. It’s too bad because with an update this app would be a good one. The idea of the run walk intervals is great and I suggest you look it up and apply it to Your runs. It’s really reduced my recovery time and made it do I can run farther and longer. You don’t need this frustrating app to leverage the method.
First Steps to my First Marathon
I have always wanted to be a runner, but I was never able to pick up the habit. With Jeff’s Run Walk Run Method, I recently completed my first marathon, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. If you can walk, you can do this program. The nonjudgmental way that it allows you to start with pretty much no running ability at all (I ran for only 5 seconds out of each minute on my first run) and build from there at a pace that suits your body and your objectives really worked for me. As someone who’s struggled to find a cardio regime for years and could never stick with it, I *highly* recommend this app.
