Don't upgrade to 4.0
I've decided to add my voice to the masses in hopes that someone at eBay will listen. As a long time eBay shopper I was instantly unhappy with the latest app upgrade. It's just so much more tedious now. I miss having the tabs at the bottom to navigate to my different sections. Now it seems like everything I want to do requires several extra clicks. Why would it be more user friendly to bury all the options in a pop-out menu rather than having the icons right on the main screen? Putting the back button right next to that menu makes the design even more frustrating. And if I pull out the menu and then click on my followed searches why do I have to click again to actually see them all and not just the first few? That's why I went there! I could go on, but others already have. I am mostly disappointed to see that eBay doesn't seem at all concerned with the outcry from their own faithful users.
Hopefully you are reading these reviews before you make the horrible mistake of upgrading your app. If not, my condolences.
Update: I think this little update with "bug fixes" is just a sneaky way to wipe out the 4000+ negative reviews this new app has gotten in less than a month.
Latest update - 75% of your reviewers said the new layout is NOT functional or simple or efficient, yet you completely ignore that feedback and keep it the same with some lame message in your recent update trying to tell us the new version is better? Goodbye eBay.
What used to be a simple app turned into a MESS with the last update. I used to be able to pull up the app and view all the info I wanted to see QUICKLY and effortlessly on default page of the app: Saved searches, watched items, feedback. NOW I have to flip between 3-4 screens or scroll around to find this info. I don't have time to play these hide and seek games. At the very least, let us customize the activity page to remove options or change the order.
Also, the alert for followed searches is pointless when it doesn't "alert" me until a day or two after the item is listed.
Top 5 most important Apps of all time
Yes it may take a little getting used to with the new layout, but once you set up your notifications correctly it's a pretty efficient selling app to use. I clear thousands of dollars worth of stuff each year selling things I no longer need. Sometimes my cars and motorcycles (this is the most money making place to sell those). This app makes it pretty easy to snap pictures, write a couple of lines and send the item up. Not sure what these complainers are smoking... I think they insecure about change. Well, this is the Internet age, embrace change.
