Bee Review

The Fresno Bee app, eedition, uses a reliable platform which duplicates looking at a newspaper. This platform is used by other papers and works quite well.

Bad update

I read the bee on a tablet, so it was already small print.
New update brings new format and a border. Small
print is now tiny print, and new format makes it harder
to navigate the tiny print. Take an product that's just alright
And make it worse. Seems to be what the Bee does best.

Needs customizable settings

Generally a good app, especially if you appreciate being able to see the full layout of the paper edition.

The main complaint I have about the app—and it’s really quite annoying—is the sensitivity with which the app will swipe to the next article while reading an article in the “reader” mode. Attempting to scroll down within an article frequently results in the page swiping to the next article, which causes the article I had been reading to continually be resetting back to the beginning.

I wish there was a setting to turn off this “swipe to next article” feature completely, or at least that the developers would dial down the sensitivity of the gesture. I also wish that the app featured a Night reading mode with white text on a black background, as is typical in most other iPad reading apps.
