“Ecoute Is The Best Music Player For iOS. Period.” - MacStories.
Ecoute for iOS is an alternative player using your existing musical library. It sports a clean and elegant interface, revolves around gestures to help you control your music quickly, and integrates Twitter, Facebook, and Last.fm so you can share your favorites tracks.
It enhances your control over the music by adding more options like 'shuffle by albums', 'play next' and 'add up next'.
Moreover, Ecoute offers the ability to manage the now playing queue. Add songs on the go and reorganize your tracks with ease!
The user interface automatically switches into night mode as the brightness of the screen decreases. You can also force the night mode if the default UI doesn't fit you.
Ecoute supports AirPlay and iTunes Match. Metadata like Play counts, and last played dates are synchronised.
Available filters are Artists, Albums, Composers, Genres, Playlists, Compilations, Songs, and Audiobooks.

Great app once setup right
I really like the app once I found the settings and tweaked the interface. Like switching to full-time night mode and turning on "on selection mode". I wish there was a settings icon in the app to find settings easier. Also wish there was the option to turn filters on and off, like composers and computations for example, or have the auto hide if none were found. Also wish it had play options in the pull up home control area for quickly accessing during incoming call. Other than that, it's a very nice and useful app to have.
Outstanding all around
After dealing with the "Boom" player and all its annoying/constricting quirks, I decided to find an app that gave me freedom to listen to my music how I wanted to listen to it with ease and quality sound. Ecoute was highly recomended by friends and I gave it a go. No issues at all, any question I had was quickly answered and I'm back to enjoying my music 100%. Thank you for the hard work you clearly put into not only programming the app but really understanding the music fans needs and giving us a great experience.
Quality music app replacement
After using this for a few days I've found some things I enjoy and others I hope the developer might address.
First I like the options to shuffle by album and mark certain tracks or albums as excluded from shuffle. Also viewing the library in grid format is a great option.
The issue I've run into is the ability to tap into an album from the player screen. In the stock ios 9.3 music app you can tap the artist name/song name and it immediately brings up the album. Then if you tap on that song or a song within the album, it automatically turns shuffle off within that album and plays it in normal succession. With Ecoute I have to perform several steps to accomplish the same result.
Otherwise I really like the app but I'm still on the fence about using it as a full time music app replacement.
