Battlegrounds of Eldhelm is an indie, online, free-to-play collectible card game (CCG) and role playing game (RPG).
The game features:

Ratings and Reviews
Not very fun, confusing mechanics
I'd like to first point out that the game's mechanisms are a bit different than what I'm used to, so I will likely be a bit biased. Now I've played many kinds of card games, from Heartstone to Yugioh to MtG and even less well known single-player games like Spectromancer. It feels alien to me to play a game where creature cards don't exist and you basically play spell cards every turn.
The tutorial explains very little as to how to "read" a card and figure out what it does. It just says to flip a few cards out, end turn, repeat until you somehow win. I can't make heads or tails as how what the "rage" counter does, how combos work, nor the difference between defense and damage reduction.
As for the actual gameplay, it's rather dry. You flick out cards, hope it does something, and make sure by the end of your turn that your hand's mostly empty so that you have a chance of pulling an offensive or defensive card on your appropriate turn. The card effects range from Deal X damage, Reduce opponent or give yourself [effect/buff] by Y amount, or give energy or something at the beginning of your next few turns (I think..). I haven't seen anything else so far.
Interesting spin on CCG
Mind I've only been playing for a day, but so far this has kept my interest. Like Hearthstone, you can go pretty much as often as you'd like with no obvious energy bar to make you hide your time. The game mechanics are rather unique and the way you gather new spells is quite different from the other mainstream card games I've played so far. The game plat is a bit slow, but I hope it will pick up as I get used to the stages. The graphics and artwork are ok, but the main appeal here is the game mechanics. So if you'd like a new game with a different take on the CCG genre, this will do it. I might go higher on my rating, but the in-app purchases seemed a little high for my tastes. Given I keep at it I will more donate money to the company as a thank you then for any real game value.

This is a good game overall, but there are a few things I want to point out/suggest... In order from most to least important
1. The combo and damage indicators often block the tenth card in your hand so it is impossible to play. You could fix this by moving the combo and damage indicators to the top of the screen.
2.it wouldn't hurt to advertise this game a little bit because hardly anyone is ever online, so even duels are hard to come by
3. It would be cool if there was a system for trading cards for other cards with either other people or in a shop of some sort. That way people could trade away a couple swarm of bees cards for a couple wisdom because they have 6 swarm of bees cards but only 1 wisdom. Note that some cards like heroics would be untradable.
4. Skills also take FOREVER to train, and some of the level requirements for some of the skills are a bit ridiculous, especially because exp isn't rewarded for the campaign after the first one.
I do like the concept of the game, so keep up the hard work on this game.
