Fun & Challenging

UPDATE: The app seems to give credit for the last game played, not taking into account any game that didn't finish due to failure to complete quickly enough or making too many errors.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted to wait until I had used the app for several weeks before giving it a rating. I find the games both entertaining & varied. I'm using the free version. It took about a dozen times playing each game for the app to get to a point where I was being consistently challenged. It then adjusts based on how well I perform each time. With dozens of game modules in the mix, and a semi-random selection algorithm, you never know which specific games you're going to be playing on a given day. The app lets you play the "games of the day" a few more times, but won't let you get credit for them after about two extra times, because then you'd just be memorizing the answers for the day. I can't say this or any of the apps like it really do help keep your brain sharp, but it certainly can't hurt for the 10 minutes or so invested to play it daily.

Still awesome after four months

I tried the pro version for a month after using the free version for two months, but cancelled it after 30 days. I miss the pro version games and control over what I can train on each day. I love how the spelling and grammar now explain the correct answers and rules. This gives you real world improvement as opposed to just playing "mind games" like Luminosity. Getting the pro back. Don't get too hung up on the percentile ratings. I was in 90% on all categories and then didn't play for a week and dropped into the 80% on three groups. It makes sense as more people play and more comparative data is collected. They have done a fantastic job of constantly updating the games and keeping it fresh. Keep pouring resources in and I'll keep training. No, I'm not a paid review.

Worth it!

I certainly notice myself improving in certain areas. (Faster calculations, improved vocabulary, better grammar, better pronunciation, as well as dumping out sentence redundancy). I am not a huge fan of the 5k limit, as I've almost reached it in 1 month of training. This is because I want everything to really be drilled into my brain for the long-term. I've improved, but I'm no "expert", as my EPQ chart insinuates. I can always keep playing once I've maxed my EPQ out, but I'd like a rating system to keep track of my long term progress. This app is just a few steps short of perfection. I presented this review critically, but I'm really nitpicking. The games are a lot of fun, and I definitely feel that I can truly benefit from it if I continue playing for years to come! Looking forward to new games and updates!
