If you are fan of old school RPG this is an outstanding game. The turn based gameplay is top notch and truly is the best RPG in the App Store Appadvice
...I found the gameplay to be smooth and easy to figure out. The graphics are good and the replay value was excellent. Appchatter

What's New in Version 1.1
- Implemented an autosave feature. Game will automatically save when entering a new map area.
- A flashing save notification appears in the top left of the screen during autosave.
- Added a button to the character portraits in the info menu as a hint that clicking the portrait will open the equip/spell menus for that character
- Fixed the problem where it was difficult to activate a NPC dialog sometimes
- Added the iPod MediaPicker so a player can play their own music
- Added an options menu for toggling autosave and for playing game sound/ipod sound
Could have been more
Elven Chronicles looks really great and the controls are pretty good. The managing items does require digging into the menus a bit too deep, but is okay. Like someone else stated, this game does chew up battery. The big problems with this app are weak story line & unbalanced game play. The story progress with simple short dialog bubbles. No animations or cut scenes here. So you end up just fighting monsters. That is boring. And since you end up just fighting monsters, there should be game balance so this doesn't get boring. My characters got way too strong versus the monsters I was fighting. I was not wandering around to level up, just going through the story line. The weaknesses of each monster is quite easy to guess at (hmmm, bright orange/yellow monster, I guess I'll use ice). So you have a game with a weak story line that relies on boring fighting... ugh! This could have been more! It's like some software engineer used a game design book and implemented the example. Where was the game producer, game designer or level designer! This game lacks soul.
Great! But needs help.
This game was worth the $3.99 I bought it for. I played it a ton and it is terribly addicting. However, it was a bit of a frustration (better after 1.1) Recommended it if you like basic RPG's and aren't looking for anything to complex (FF 1-3ish)
It would crash at random, and this was miserable before the autosave feature.
Also now that I finished the main story, there is no reason to touch it again. No motivation for getting anything else, because there isn't anything else to get. The enemies were very easy and I leveled far faster than they did. It was a walk in the park with very linear armor/weapon progression, and customization was pointless because you were with so few options and the desired effects were hardly improvements.
Some of my quests dead ended to and i am unable to finish them.
Basically, with another patch and expansion, this game is going to be great. I really liked it for what it was, even with all this little faults. It kept me opening the app every free chance I had.
Not worth the $
There has been absolutely no effort on devs side to fix the dull gameplay, repetitiveness, customization, or character development... actually, wait, no effort on the devs side at all. I saw a new game came out from this company, and I am forever boycotting them. This game was a terrible let down and there was no effort to bring it up to it's potential. **Watch out for this company.** Go spend your hard earned money on Vay for turn based rpg, dungeon hunter for a diablo-esque rpg, or hybrid for an action rpg.
Decent combat - *no longer fun after 2 hours of grinding....
Combat against enemies your own level too easy.
Absolutely no customization of characters, items, or abilities.
Items do not change your appearance at all.
The entire game is basically grinding.
Provides moderate fun in about 10minute sessions, but other than that the grinding is just unbearable. Combat is too easy, especially with the auto heal out of combat. You can't spend any skill or stat points and I don't think there are any other than hp/mp. Also there isn't any sort of plot to speak of. You're basically just thrown into grinding, and that's it.
Update: Devs still have not fixed anything. The quality of this game is pretty upsetting. One update could fix its problems easily... Still waiting on it...
