Ratings and Reviews
potentially a good pw manager, too simple and flawed
I really wanted to like this app enough to switch from ipassword. I love that you don’t need to give them an email to use it, that’s a big privacy and security plus! But then that big security plus pretty much went right down the drain after I realized the app doesn’t seem to auto lock when switching between apps unless you actually close the app...you also can’t organize passwords into folders or tabs, which is a huge pain if you keep accounts on multiple emails. The app also can’t auto generate new passwords without deleting the entry and remaking it, which is an unfortunate deign oversight. I would definitely switch my password manager if these things were fixed!
A potentially useful app with a massive flaw
I happily used this app for several months until it developed a major bug. The positive aspects of the app are it’s simplicity and no knowledge architecture. However, about a year ago the iOS version of the app developed a bug that renders it largely useless. When attempting to paste passwords from Encryptr into most iOS apps, the paste attempt does not work. Nothing happens. Spider oak support informs me that this is a “known problem” but they have no plans to rectify it in the current version of Encryptr. A fix will await a comprehensive redesign planned for sometime in 2018. This is a major, crippling, problem.
The Best Password Manager Around
And it's free!
I've used every password manager there is, and only Encryptr got the balance of security and convenience right. Encryptr has been my primary password manager app for a bit and I'm super excited to see iOS get its own app. Try the app: you'll love it. And read up on the tech behind it: you'll love it too.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
