It’s not bad

just a honest guy

The instruments aren’t entirely clear and some effects (rimshots) aren’t very different from the other. Also there aren’t half note rolls only eighth note which is very annoying and you can’t tie rolls to other notes. So in in reality there are no rolls in this app only buzzes. Also come on $20 for this. I’ve gotten free apps that were better than this. I’m 15 and I just spent all the money I had on this to get a mediocre app. If you want me to be happy and if you want five stars from me your gonna have to fix all of the problems I stated.

Developer Response

The instruments are a standard drum line setup: snare, tenors, bass, and cymbals. Play around with the app and it should be obvious. Actually the app handles rolls just fine - figure out the meter you want and then add the number of notes needed. For a five stroke roll (http://vicfirth.com/five-stroke-roll-2/), tap an eighth note 4 times to get 4 32nd notes and tap the next eighth to end the roll. If you have a different meter need, then adjust the number of notes in the measure. Please use the "email us" feature if you have more questions. If you are still unhappy with our product feel free to contact Apple for a refund and delete the app. Happy Drumming!

This app should be worth $20

Mayor Jake

Yes, I know, this app IS $20, but why? It should be worth $10 the way it is now, but if can definitely be worth $20 if you add more drumline fonts (different sounds and pitches). As well as a sheet music user interface. Overall, it is a great app, because there is nothing else like it!

Developer Response

since there's nothing else like it, perhaps we don't charge enough... You may be on to something there. We'll think about raising prices. Thanks for the review!

Minimal dynamics control

Waz-up buttercup

It is very hard to hear the difference between a piano and fortissimo note. There are also no accents that can be added, and there are also no crescendo or decrescendos. Please fix this. Bass drums are also way too quiet

Developer Response

You can adjust the volume mix in the settings view. The app is best used with headphones and the dynamics are clearer with them. Accents are handled by using a combo of loud(er) notes and soft(er) notes, not by adding an accent. We think about stick heights for this. Thanks for the review!
