Time Inc., I don't want to see the cover of your special issues
It's NOT why I've been a subscriber of EW since it began, in 1990! Recently, any app for your magazines forces users to only view the current special issue, whether or not they are subscribers. Is it too much to ask that Apple's newsstand reflect the cover of the current issue? What's the point of having a cover never change? If someone wants to view special issues, let the USER make that choice, stop forcing such covers on subscribers and casual users alike! I've already deleted the People app on my iPad because of this situation, and I'm seriously thinking of deleting the EW app as well, because I'm a print subscriber. Let users decide how they view your publications!
Better than the hardcopy
I've been a subscriber for many, many years and this app is a terrific, obvious, upgrade to their brand.
I don't subscribe to other similar magazines because there is nothing better than EW - except for the long-gone Premiere Magazine- so I'm unable to make comparisons. But this transition to app gives me instant access to film previews, music samples, book samples, etc. and the grid line allows me to drag within the site effortlessly.
Honestly, every time I'm done reading the latest issue on my IP6, I think about buying a mini Ipad so the pictures would be bigger. Then I remember I've still got that terrific old fashioned magazine to fall back on. Love it!
No complaints. Just keep it goin EW people.
Colorful and well designed
Downloads effortlessly and I'm glad it doesn't require a log-in each time like other mags do. Everything in the hard copy is there.
