Become an apprentice charged with a most ancient and sacred responsibility—one which is also an extraordinary adventure.
Only those truly devoted to their cause can experience the magic of Renobatio: the thousand year ritual which ensures that the young of Dragonkind reach maturity. Disciplined, dedicated, fearless, and battle-ready; a worthy apprentice must be all of these things. Whether they choose the path of the gunslinger, the swordsman, or the paladin, there is one other characteristic they all share—the most important of all—Epic Hearts.

Another A-RPG for iOS...

...but it might be the best one I've played. There is an incredible amount of A-RPGs available for iPad and iPhone. Fans of the genre might think of Inotia or Zenonia, two well-known titles with similar battle-systems and interfaces. You can easily lump Epic Hearts with thise two series as well.

The main difference, though, is that Inotia and Zenonia have spawned several sequels each, spanning across iPhone to iPad. You can say they have had more time to tweak their systems. However, I'll honestly say Epic Hearts beats them both. Even without the crisp, iPad centered graphics (being that this is only for iPhone) and the sequels to "get it right", Epic Hearts has entertained me more than the previously mentioed series ever did. The gameplay is fast, battles can be huge (a lot of mobs, rather than two or three enemies at once) and the item, levelling and quest aspects are great. Not to mention, all three playable characters have their own thiught-out stories, all of which are relatable to the overall plot.

Lastly, the art in the game isn't bad at all. Well-done character design (although typical Korean-esque, it is good Korean-esque) and environments are great to. I really hope this game gets some sequels, and even am upgrade to the iPad!

I'm extremely addicted to this game! Most games like these always have this problem with the controls, but this one for once was awesome! The only problem I have is Chi is TOO fat! xD How can she eat that much without getting fat? But she's a dragon so oh well! Love it! The story line is very good. Those three main characters all seem completely normal in the beginning but a you process you find out there's more to their story. Like Half, I expected him to be completely chilled out and fine, but found out he feels left out and isn't viewed as anything but half human half beast. Not a single side actually likes him! Very awesome game! (I should stop blabbling)

Solid Game, Spotty Translation

Epic Hearts is a fairly good kRPG. It plays very similarly to other games in the genre like Zenonia so that gives you a general idea of what to expect, but if you're not a fan of kRPGs, this one won't change your mind.

Even compared to the average kRPG though, this one has subpar English translation and poor text wrapping. Words are frequently cut off and continued on the next line. Add in the numerous typos and grammatical errors and the dialogue becomes a real chore to read.

Still, the gameplay holds up well and the app is free so it's hard to complain too much. As long as you can stomach the disjointed English translation, Epic Hearts is a fun game. I'd still say it's one of the better free iOS RPGs available.
