Description

Packed with free features and more than 30,000 of the highest-quality recipes, there’s a reason why home cooks have downloaded the award-winning Epicurious app more than 10 million times since the App Store opened. And our latest version is the ultimate food utility, faster, friendlier and redesigned to be even easier to use.

With our latest release, the app features the world's first intelligent kitchen timer for the Apple Watch. (Don't worry, iPhone users — it works on the phone, too.) Choose from 40+ ingredients from one of five categories — steak, vegetables, chicken & pork, seafood, eggs — and our custom timer will tell you how long just about anything takes to cook. We'll remind you to flip something over and give you pointers on how to tell when it's cooked perfectly.

Finally, an answer to the question: "Hey, is this done yet?"

You can also:

• Store your favorite recipes across all your devices with our recipe box and shopping list.

• Search more than 30,000 of the best recipes from publishers like Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Random House, and more—for free.

• Find out what vegetables are fresh and in-season with our Seasonal Ingredient Finder. NOTE: This features uses your location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

• Go hands-free in the kitchen, using your voice to control the app with Cook Mode.

• Browse inspired recipe collections that update as the seasons change and holidays approach.

We highly recommend you upgrade your operating system on a regular basis. The new Epicurious app for iPhone and iPad works best on IOS 8.

We want you to have a great experience. Please contact us at support@epicurious.com with any feedback and questions.

What's New in Version 4.5.1

Tiny tweaks and feats of strength, including making ads disappear when we don't have any to show you. And we solved the mystery of the phantom egg timer!

But really, we launched the world's first intelligent kitchen timer for the Apple Watch*! Choose from 40+ ingredients from one of five categories — steak, vegetables, chicken & pork, seafood, eggs — and our custom timer will tell you how long just about anything takes to cook. We'll remind you to flip something over and give you pointers on how to tell when it's cooked perfectly. Finally, an answer to the question: "Hey, is this done yet?"

*Don't worry, even if you don't have an Apple Watch, you can still use our new smart timer — it works on the iPhone, too.

Worst Upgrade Ever

Loved the FREE Epicurious App, and have been a member of Epicurious online for years. So, when offered the upgrade that would sync the Favorites on the App to my Recipe Box on the website, I bought it. What a mistake! Not only does my website recipe box not show up on the App, but all the recipes I'd saved at the App have vanished, and I can't add new recipes to the App Recipe Box either. It stays empty, and tells me I haven't added any recipes yet. A waste of time, money and effort.

Well, that bug was eventually fixed, but now there's another source of frustration. It constantly freezes, whether I'm looking through my recipe box, in the middle of reading a recipe, or anywhere in the app, leaving me unable to scroll up or down, and not responding to anything I touch. Thought this would go away with the iPhone 6, but it persists. I end up going to the mobile site, giving up on the app.

Good app, updating improved

This is a nice app and one I use a lot. It has suffered from lost recipes, often, during app updates but that seems to have been improved now. Still missing a lot of recipes I had previously saved. A better way to organize saved recipes in the recipe box would be a nice improvement. Otherwise it's one of the best recipe apps available.

Bug Fixes

Hello, fellow Epicurii. I have been having a few bug issues. About 83.6 percent of the time I try to open the app, the screen blacks out on me, but I'm still in the app. After that, I close the app, then I try to open the app again. This works about 46.7 percent of the time. I would really appreciate it if you were to make this bug go away. Thanks!
