EpicWin is an iPhone app that puts the adventure back into your life. It’s a streamlined to-do list, to quickly note down all your everyday tasks, but with a role-playing spin. So rather than just ticking off your chores and reminders, completing each one earns you XP to improve and develop your character in an ongoing quest to improve stats, gain riches, and level-up.
✭ To-do list with a Role-Playing Game spin
✭ Streamlined and fast to use
✭ Range of avatars to level-up with
✭ Destroy your chores in animated battles
✭ Points and rewards for completing your tasks
✭ Loot to discover and share
By getting points for your chores it's easier to actually get things done. We all have good intentions but we need a bit of encouragement here and there. Doing the laundry is an epic feat of stamina so why not get stamina points for it?!
The to-do list is fully-featured and supports repeating tasks, displays reminders for overdue events and allows time-critical events to be assigned to specific days, while more aspirational quests can be set to "someday" so you don't lose sight of your goals. And each task completed is destroyed by your avatar, so get your Undead Warrior to beat-up your laundry, or your Treeman to headbutt your overspilling inbox.
The app is supplied with 3 animated avatars (with a further 2 to buy as In-App-Purchases) which grow in characteristics that represent your own life. Will you be a Maiden of Juggled Priorities, or a King of Win? The lifestyle you lead will decide.

Fun concept, but from the description and website video I thought it would be more like an actual game. For example, you earn gold and loot, but you can't do anything with it. This is just a task list with the graphics of a game. Of course, I wouldn't want it to be too game like/distracting- this is a productivity app after all- but I was expecting to be able to DO something periodically as a reward, even if it as as simple as solving a little puzzle. I would totally pay more to upgrade to a more game like experience.
Also, the graphics aren't great on an ipad. It automatically displays in the middle of your screen as 1x or iPhone size which is pretty small. When you use the little 2x button in the bottom right to toggle larger, the graphics fill the screen on my mini but are super fuzzy.
Finally, there's a bug: I fooled around creating/completing some fake tasks at first to figure out how everything worked. They showed up on my completed quests tab, and I was able to delete them fine, but every since then my completed quest tab has remained permanently blank. No newly completed tasks show up anymore.
Basically, this app has potential, and I do like it, but it's not quite there yet.
i like!! (and im 26)
its great for someone like me who needs that structure in daily life, and is effiencent as a sticker reward program :-) - i cant wait until you can spend gold on things (i read your FAQs )
i think those that would benifit from this app the most are kids and teens and those with aspergers or autism.
and a suggestion would be to make a free verison on this (like limiting how far you can level up) then adding a back up so people can take it from the free verison into the paid verison. and that would get more people buying it , (cause its hard to buy something thats almost $3 without knowing if you'll like it or not)
(Almost) just what I was looking for
This app as an idea is extremely marketable especially to procrastinating students. It could, however, use some refinement. I agree with what has been said by many already, it's lacking in the actual game part of the app. Instead of incentivizing people to get things done with the reward of progress in the game, its kind of just a fun to do list. With the addition of obstacles to overcome, enemies to defeat, things to spend gold on, etc. this could truly be a million dollar app. I will be recommending to friends as soon as I feel this app is worth recommending :)
