All the pieces are here to make a great app, but it falls short in so many ways. First, the map should be able to be zoomed more, there's very little detail. Second, it's almost impossible to set the start and stop points for a user defined trail, and once you do create one, it's almost impossible to select. Having created a trial, there is a detail pop up that shows the elevation profile, which is very cool, but again, without detail or the ability to zoom. The rest of the detail page is gray text on gray background in tiny type with, you guessed, no zoom. All of this might be ok, if there were more trail information. The "featured" places are almost laughably sparse and basically worthless. Here's an idea, a user generated list of defined trails so you can easily jump to them, or even crowd sourced notes and photos so I can see what to expect from the trail. All of this could make a great app, but for now, I'll stick with N. America 3D, which shows amazing dimensional typos of the country, and is much easier to use.
I've used this app on multiple overnighters in the smokys. It's nice to be able to see the topo of your exact route. It takes some learning but I think the app is pretty intuitive.
