Changed my bracket choices without consent
***BEWARE this app changed my bracket choices without consent.
I have os6 on my ipad so I was forced to use an older version, where I made two brackets before the tournament began. The first titled Go Aztecs!!!! had sdsu beating AZ and WI and FL to win the title. I then copied that bracket to make a more realistic prediction with Florida winning. Both were correct when I closed the app on my ipad. Once the tournament started I noticed on the updated app in my iPhone 5 that my Go Aztecs!!! bracket had some how changed and now both brackets were identical to my second "realistic" bracket that has FL winning. The sweet 16 starts Thursday and my brackets are currently in the top 5% of brackets (yes I'm suprised too) and if San Diego State does some how win it all I think I have a good chance of winning the contest and certainly my local pool. I have contacted tech support and will update this review once they respond.
Failure to refresh all scores in a group automatically is a real setback for this app. Beyond the actual game scores, up to date bracket scores and standings within a group is probably the most important information users are hoping to get from this app. Why make them fight so hard for it? I'd have preferred the annoyance of the pop-up ads every time I opened the group standings instead of being forced to open each bracket individually to updates their scores and occasionally getting hit with an ad... Imagine, a way to make your users and advertisers happy at the same time... How can you pass-up that win-win? Get to work development team... And repair my bracket while you're in their!
Easy, fun, doesn't always update
This made it very easy to pick my brackets. It's been a lot of fun to follow along. The only problem is that the app doesn't always update the points of my opponent's brackets. I have to open each individual one for their points to update- sometimes! Sometimes it does work without prodding. Also, when I get a notification sent to me, when my phone is asleep, it shows up on the screen, but when I slide it to read more, it doesn't take me to that notification.
It's a lot of fun though. Next year, I'll do more brackets!
