My Go To App for Writing and Document Storage

I write a lot! I have the app on all my computers and mobile devices. I use it for note taking, URL storage, and PDF documents that I wish to organize and find anywhere. I also use it with Penultimate for hand written notes and sketches. This app is perfect for me!

You have to be careful with synchronization. I try not to have the app open at the same time on my different devices. I have been ok as long as I am editing different notes, but otherwise, I have had to make sure I "synchronize" before I edit the same note on different devices ... As opposed to thinking it was automatically done.

I also put a lot of images in my notes. This is vital for me because I am often preparing lesson plans, tutorials, and procedural documents. It is easy to import photos from your albums or even take the picture directly through the app.

The annotate feature is OK. I have the Jot script pen and I can annotate free-hand ... This is where I may consider moving to One Note ... I want to be able to draw and type ... Yeah, that's asking a lot, but if you don't ask ... :-)

I work in the software development field and in the craftsman arts field. This app is perfect for both. I use this app to journal everything in my spiritual and health related needs.

This app is better than a paper journal because it never runs out of paper and I never grab the "wrong" notebook!

Every release worse and worse. Plus advertisements

Bloated, slow app. Emphasizes collaboration (that fits better in web browser interface or desktop app) over individual functionality like note taking/import that is important in limited screen real estate of phone apps. Poor, inconsistent UI that ignores Apple UI guidelines for no benefit: mixing 3 or 4 different fonts in same app (serif and sans on same screen, are you kidding me?), confusing information architecture and navigation, goofy stretch animation, poor contrast/color themes. When exporting from browser links, only takes link text, not article text, even from Reader mode of Safari. But on the positive side, it did offer multiple controls for paying for services that I don't need, and a really ugly default Avatar that looks like it was designed by a fifth-grade female who collects Barbie dolls (also clashing with the available app themes).

Update: dropped to one star for the increasingly annoying advertisements for paid version of service in both app and web versions.

I love Evernote but hate that they want me to pay for features that have always been free.

Best App for life. I have no doubt. I use it every day for everything. I am a basic user and it works for me. With a little more functionality I could have a phone that only opened Evernote.

I should pay for premium but I'm not there yet. However, I'm bummed that certain basic features have been moved to premium. Mainly the ability to email notes. It was a beautiful way for me to store client emails or log an email on the fly.

If you want me to pay, yes making all basic features premium is one way...or one way to make me reconsider. The best way is to make great new features that I just have to have! Like Video mark up. Sounds odd but Yup people would love this. So many uses for business, social or otherwise.
