Nice Gameplay, Bad Storyline
Overall, if you can get over the contemptuous attempt at a storyline, this game is quite alright. Got to level 32 in a few hours with no in-app purchases. Highlights are below....
-decent controls / control response
-decent music, though very limited sound tracks
-decent SFX sounds
-ok character leveling scheme; may be too easy to advance levels
-easy to navigate menus
-poorly developed / unoriginal storyline at the fundamental level, for whatever reason, is inexcusably ridiculous
-no real character development as supposed storyline progresses; character interaction with NPCs is not convincing, almost to the point of absurdity
-muddled monotheistic / Christian overtones with references to the ethicical dilemas of war and historical reachback to the Crusades is a huge turn off
This is one of the best RPGs I have played on the iPad (i have played many). I have already put many hours of game play into this game-15 to 20 hours- and there is still more of the campaign to play. The campaign and side quests can be challenging, but there's always some way to get yourself out of a sticky situation. The graphics are good and the characters are likable. It is evident that much thought was put into the making of this app. I'm probably not the first and I won't be the last to say "get this app, you won't regret it" :)
An RPG gem for iOS
The pace at which you're leveling, upgrading equipment, and questing is great for casual play. It's also this pace that may just keep you playing for hours.
I've barely started one character but I see great replay value with other characters revealing different perspectives to the story.
As for gameplay it plays like the Zenonia series. And although there are also four classes in this game, keep in mind each class has its own character and storyline.
