Has room for improvement
I'm a huge fan of Expedia's mobile app because it lets me book hotels and flights under a few minutes, literally, provided that I know exactly what I want and need. But that's the thing: if I don't know what I'm looking for the app doesn't help me explore which hotel is best for my purposes. Personalized suggestions or tips would make the search experience a million times better, e.g. "This hotel is close to the heart of downtown SF, great selection of restaurants etc". The ability to pay using Expedia+ reward points is a very welcomed addition for a frequent user like me.
However, with the release of iOS 10 and iPhone 7, where are the 3D Touch peek/pop integration on search results? Where is the iOS 10 Siri integration, and Apple maps integration? Where are the iMessage sticker packs featuring different destinations or better yet, allow us to share our itineraries on iMessage as a specially formatted message. I'm sure these enhancements will make the app experience much richer for us users.
Better than ever
I've been using versions of this ap for several years and have typically been pleased. This latest version is even better than past ones. Selecting the dates, number of travelers, etc. seemed easier than I remember. Also, clicking to and from maps, reviews, and room features was easier than I recall in the past also. I don't travel every week, but I travel enough to know that this ap makes the planning easier and usually seems to have the best overall prices
Expedia is the worst
Don't ever use Expedia and get rooked into pre-paying reservations! I had to cancel our reservations at three hotels because I hurt my back. Because I booked and canceled thru Expedia, they would not give me my refund (more than 72 hours in advance!). One hotel that for some reason I was able to cancel directly (the Thunderbird Inn in Mackinaw City) did give me a refund for the second night. But the Best Western Birch Run refused to refund my money (canceled more than 72 hours in advance). Expedia wouldn't help. Birch Run wouldn't help. DON'T BE HOODWINKED by these thieves! Please note: Best Western in Traverse City was awesome! Amazing! I would stay there again - but I will book direct - NOT THRU EXPEDIA!!!
