Exporter Pro for Mac will export your contacts to all common formats: CSV, TSV, Excel (MS Excel 2007 or higher, Apple Numbers), SQLite.

The built-in Contacts app will only export contacts as VCards. Common spreadsheets or databases can't handle VCards so there's no easy way to get your contacts into spreadsheets or databases.

Simply drag contacts from the Address Book into the app, select the fields to export, and pick an output format from the list. Click Export... and off you go. Can't be easier!

• Export individual contacts or the whole Address Book
• Simply drag contacts from the Address Book into the app
• Use selected fields only, e.g. only Home entries of a contact
• Sort contacts and fields
• Freely arrange output columns and specify column names
• Save column settings as template for reuse
• Integrated preview in tabular form
• Fully Unicode compatible, works with all alphabets and languages
• Export Address Book to CSV / TSV (separator user definable) for import in Word, Outlook and similar applications
• Export Address Book to native Excel XLSX files, also usable in Numbers, Open Office etc.
• Export Address Book to SQLite

Use with Filemaker Pro

I bought this app because it allows drag and drop of single contacts. It worked on the first try. I tweeked my export a few times to get the format I wanted/needed for my import to my Filemaker solution. I am impressed.

A couple items for the team: 1) the default on the CSV uses a semi colon separator where a comma is better. It should offer a drop down menu which should include a tab mark and 2) the app should offer an option to save the export template so that I can create multiple templates and reuse them as needed. These are suggested upgrades for the next version . The app is good and I recommend it.

Missing a key feature

This application works just fine - other than a HUGE miss - it does not support groups! If you want to select records by group, you cannot make this happen in this application. Since groups are a component of Contacts, this is a serious omission, as this is often a key selection criteria for exporting.

Extremely disappointing.

Worked just like it said

Worked just like it said, drag and droped a group of my contacts into the window, select which columns to export with a preview and export! Then import the csv to a new workbook and delimit based on ; GREAT!
