Description

Instantly reach the people in your life—for free. Messenger is just like texting, but you don't have to pay for every message (it works with your data plan).

Not just for Facebook friends: Message people in your phone book and just enter a phone number to add a new contact.

Group chats: Create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place.

Photos and videos: Shoot videos and snap selfies or other photos right from the app and send them with one tap.

Free calls: Talk as long as you want, even with people in other countries. (Calls are free over Wi-Fi. Otherwise, standard data charges apply.)

Even more ways to message:
Bring your conversations to life with stickers.
Preview your camera roll photos and videos without leaving the conversation--then choose the perfect ones to send.
Record voice messages when you have more to say.

Extra features:
Know when people have seen your messages.
Forward messages or photos to people who weren't in the conversation.
Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them.
Turn on location to let people know when you're nearby.
See who's available on Messenger and who's active on Facebook.
Turn off notifications when you're working, sleeping or just need a break.
Stay logged in so you never miss a message.

Customer Reviews

Use Messenger all the time.

I like Messenger. Since installing it, I've never missed a message that ended up in my "other" folder, which is great for my Facebook business and trading sites that rely on being able to access every message to earn sales. It's also as convenient as texting without sharing my personal phone number with Facebook acquaintances and clients. Another great feature is that the app shows up on my main screen so I don't have to log into Facebook to send or reply to messages. The worst part is, as with many apps, it begs me to invite my friends to add it to their collection of apps. I find any app irritating that constantly asks me to invade my friends privacy. I have recommended it to friends but only when they ask not when the app asks!

People should really stop complaining on here

Stop whining and be a civilized human being when you write a review. The reason they don't listen probably is because you're acting like everything's over and you're done with Facebook. The reason they separated Facebook and messenger is because it is nearly impossible to keep using one app with ALL the people who use Facebook , billions use Facebook. That's a lot to hold down on one app, yes messenger isn't the best nor is Facebook , but what app is perfect ? Just leave polite reviews and not be arses because you didn't get your way with the new updates, millions request these updates keep that in mind and it's not your website/app it's theirs . They choose what's best, keep that in mind.

Ummmm, like what ? 😒

Ok ok ok I had no problem with this app before, it was perfectly fine I could use it whenever I wanted to and everything! But now whenever I try and go into messenger it crashes each time !! I can just tap on it and it will take me back to my home screen ! Now I can say my phone is jailbroken, and something's barely crash, but I been jailbroke my phone and used messenger on it. And now it's crashing out of no where ? I have messaging notifications on Facebook and I really want to answer them, and I haven't added any of the jailbroken features lately that will be the cause of it crashing. So now I deleted it and downloaded again and now I gotta see if it will open or not, idk what it is but Facebook better fix it !!!!
