Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Facebook doesn't run GPS in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require this.
What's New in Version 141.0
Thanks for using Facebook! To make our app better for you, we bring updates to the App Store regularly.
Every update of our Facebook app includes improvements for speed and reliability. As new features become available, we’ll highlight those for you in the app.
Found the "Log Out" in new version
Of the features I use, the most notable change is the location of the "Log Out" feature. It is now buried beneath a "master" area - 9 dots arranged in a square formation - in the lower right corner of the screen. It also requires far more effort than the two prior iPad versions. One needs to press the master button first, scroll beyond the bottom of the visible portion, select "Settings & Privacy", find "Log Out" on the last row, press "Log Out", and then reconfirm the choice in another level. Was the development team shortchanged on playing "Hide-and-seek" as children and is now trying to live vicariously through the user experience?
I don't need to burn WiFi bandwidth or data by not logging out.
Facebook and iPhone
Most of the time I'm usually on my phone when I use FB. I am ok with it for the most part but wish it wouldn't hang up so much. I would also like it better if we had the ability to use it as we do on our desktops.
At this time I'm happy with the changes that FB has made. My last review above was 2 years ago. Facebook helps me keep up with the people I care about, remember birthdays, anniversaries, special events and gives me a look back at what was happening last year. Thank you for the continued updates. I almost always use FB via my phone.
The latest update seems to have messed things up to the point I can't use the app. I tried posting a status & it was on top of other parts of the app so I couldn't see what I was typing. Posted the update & saw a typo. No problem. I will just edit the post. NOPE! Not an option.
I like to read comments on a post before I post a comment so I don't duplicate another comment. It now takes you to the page the post was on & you have to search the posts on that page to find the one you want to read. I gave up!
Now when I try to read comments on a picture or comment on the post, it just opens the picture.
What is going on with this update? I even rebooted my phone to see if that would help. Nope! Still an issue. The whole look of the page has changed.
09/18 Another review update: Must've been another update. If I try to read comments it takes me to the page of the original post but I have to scroll through all previous posts to find the one I'm trying to read the comments on which might be 15 posts down. Not a good update in my opinion.
