Retired

Facebook is pretty good on the iPhone for the most part and almost similar to the iPad except much smaller of course and one thing I miss the most on iPhone is the ability to select all and have it read back to me, the area I had selected, be it a phrase or a paragraph or more.

That one thing I wish Facebook would add but hasn't done so, as as of yet on iPhone or on the iPad is dual screen program access and then there is tha Email Listing, as to allow us to separate our emails by the click of a toggle switch where you can have them as usual; in alphabetical order or group them together in various groups of who or where they came from, so weeding through them is much quicker, by segregated listing's to do as we please; be it delete, keep, or archive.

Other than that Facebook is perfect on iPhone for now. I like it just as it is. I'm sure there's other things that could be a plus but for the most part I like it very much just like I like my iPad or on my Windows laptop, using an even larger display which is not always necessarily better, except possibly for the ability to see more area in a larger format, if one is willing to give up the true mobility of the iPhone.

Much improved

Facebook has been much improved on the iPhone. It's good enough that my main complaints with Facebook have nothing to do with the app.

Updated March 28, 2017: The app is now crashing when it is not being used. When I tap on the icon, the app shows a blank screen with a blue band at the top, indicating that it is starting up. I have crash reporting turned on, so hopefully the developers are seeing these crashes. Running iOS 10.2.1.

Updated Sept. 29, 2016: with updates, the app is now behaving consistently. When you leave the app for some unknown time, it will reset and rebuild your News Feed, starting from the top.

There is a significant bug in the app. If someone certified makes a post, the white check mark in a blue circle does NOT appear like I think it should on the post. If someone takes a screen shot of a post, you can't tell right away if the poster is certified or not.

My biggest gripe with Facebook is the overemphasis on birthdays. I have enough friends that my News Feed is sometimes flooded with 40 posts wishing someone a happy birthday. I would like to tone this down to a one-line announcement. I have turned birthday announcements off.

Suggested improvement: iOS has a feature where the alphabet appears on the right side of the screen and you can tap a letter to go to the list starting with that letter. This is used in Contacts. I wish Facebook would use this for the Friends list so I don't have to scroll so much.

Used to Love this app much more

Firstly, it took me WAY too long to download this app on my phone. The reason: I had to first delete to eliminate stupid cache data. Then install it again. RIDICULOUS and quite ANNOYING! Why not do what that evil company twitter does and LET YOU delete all cache data from the actual app, so you don't have to constantly delete and re-install for more storage. Also it said I couldn't install app on cellular because it contained over 100MBs, only wifi which I'm doing NOW. That's BS became I updated 2 other apps that BOTH contained over 200MB's and they did NOT say I needed to use Wifi to install App, or even update it.
Also when I click on a group and I see my friends are part of the group, when I click on friends to see which ones, it just spins around and around loading, NEVER allowing me to see WHICH of my friends are in the prospective group I wanna join. ANNOYING!
Other than that I'm obviously a fB junky. So only 3 stars. Maybe I'll update to 4 or even 5 IF* you change.
