FallDown! is finally back!
FallDown! 2 takes the addictive gameplay that brought the original to the top charts all over the world and brings it to the next level! Use the new touch controls to race down the maze and avoid being caught by the laser. Dodge bombs and collect stars to unlock new customizations.
- New redesigned super-responsive touch controls makes gameplay more fast-paced and fluid than ever.
- New powerups and additions such as bombs add a new dimension to the game.
- Tons of unlockable customizations let you fall down in style.
- Tight integration with Game Center makes keeping track of your friends' scores simple.
What's New in Version 2.01
Thanks for all the comments on the last version! I will keep iterating on the game based on your feedback. Version 2.01 contains several tweaks to the gameplay to make it more similar to the old version, along with bug fixes. Also, tilt controls are back.
Version 2.0 also includes:
- A new Level game mode
- Complete levels to collect stars and bet them to unlock new customizations
- Improved gameplay
- Lots of graphical tweaks
- 64-bit support
For class in fifth grade, we were allowed to download one game. I had FallDown! 2 for a bit on my IPod 5 and recommended it to the teacher due to the simplicity and lack of anything violent. So she downloaded it and I've been playing it ever since. It's the longest app I've ever had, and I always remember it for its smooth, fluent and responsive control, it's simple but enjoyable customizable gameplay and addicting nature, and above all awesome music. However the other day I saw that it had changed. I picked it up to play and it's COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. No longer was it the same game I remembered from earlier, now the controls are choppy, the ball gets stuck in one direction, the power ups have been chopped down to one or two, there is no longer a high score board, arcade or easy mode, or even a customizable background. The music was somewhat changed as well and even the graphics changed. Please, please bring it back to how it was! If it's not broken, don't fix it! I loved the classic version... please bring it back at least as an option! Falldown! 2 original = Best Falldown! I don't have it in me to rate what was my favorite app one star. The satisfaction of falling through rows, actually collecting stars to unlock stuff and having to earn is replaced by a pretty cheap gimmick of a spinning wheel. Please bring back the game from my youth!
Refinding It's Roots
A ton of improvement on the last update! The feel is much better! A few complaints still, though.
I HATE the countdown before every new level. When I hit that next button, that means I'm ready to go! This is (once again) a very fast-paced game and having the music dim while waiting for that countdown just really throws off my momentum.
I'm on the fence about the connected edges now. While I could probably just hold one direction to beat every level, I find the connected edges to be occasionally useful now that I'm in higher levels. I really like that I can just jump right into the faster pace of the game instead of starting out slow; however I still think classic mode should come back in some form.
Now that some of the big issues are out of the way, I'm starting to see the developer's angle on some of the changes. To a new player, many of the issues I have aren't alienating, but rather provide a more cohesive and sensible experience.
Hannes Jensen should start a Kickstarter to make a FallDown! 3 with a narrative story mode. He could maybe bring in some help that way if he's not up for the whole challenge. I know I would support it!
Do not download New version!
Overall, my comments for The first 2017 update still stand (see below), but thén Thérè Was a follow-up update about a week later And i wanted to comment on that too.
My original comment: First Of all, It has a lot of bugs still, including one that has left the game non-functioning for me. Second, The designer set It so when you install it, It deletes all your old scores And balls. Worst Of all, The games from The previous version have been completely eliminated, And replaced With what in my opinion are far inferior games. Up until today, for years Falldown had been my single favorite game app, but this version is awful.
Follow-up update comment: slightly smoother graphics here, but The 'endless' game is still choppy And blurry. Why did you eliminate background options? Unlocking The balls Was pretty easy--And once you've done that, there is really nothing left to shoot for. And since you always stay at The same level you left off at, It gets very boring QuickLy. Extremely disappointed.
