It’s not just another day at the box office with Fantasy Movie League.
Created in 2015 by a group of gaming industry veterans led by ESPN Senior Fantasy Sports Analyst Matthew Berry and acquired by National CineMedia in 2017, Fantasy Movie League is a digital game for movie fans.
Players pick 8 movies each week to fill their virtual theater. As the box office climbs, so does the player. They can compete against friends or a league of other fans to win movie tickets, swag and other prizes.
There are also exclusive articles published daily and an active community of film fans from around the world.
It’s easy to play, hard to master and all for free!
Small bug fixes.

Idea Sounds Fun. Game is disappointing
As an avid movie go or, I saw an advertisement for this app while patiently awaiting Thor Ragnarok. I came home and downloaded the app, excited to try and score some major points, and possibly win free movie tickets, or whatever else they were promising. I’ve been playing for three weeks now and have been horribly disappointed and bored out of my mind. The game is not engaging, and you’re required to use a meager $1000 to make your weekly guesses, when major opening movies cost to to $500 a night. Cool idea but no were eating up memory on my iPhone.
Great in theory
But in practice this falls flat, poorly executed as an app, and terribly formatted. I wanted to have fun with this but it’s confusing and poorly constructed, maybe a serious revamp could fix it. I think the weekly cap works but developers need to find a way to connect more movie goers and score weekend points more obviously, if you don’t have fiends on the app it feels worthless to play, fix that. I like the idea of playing for prizes but I think it’s the least interesting part of this app as an idea, just make it more social and turn it into a kin to fantasy sports like it portends to be.
Hi James898919 - we appreciate the detailed feedback! We'd be interested to know if you think the web experience at https://fantasymovieleague.com is better for you. Also, a big part of FML is the community, and the heart of that is the Chatter (you'll see the link on the bottom of your app, or by going to /chatter online). Browse through it and see what you think! You'll usually find people looking for players to join their leagues as well, and you're right -- playing in a small-group competition is the best way to enjoy a fantasy game. You sound like you could make for a great FMLer, so we hope you'll give us a second look!
I loved this app :((
I have almost used this app for a full year, but in this past week it started to not work by not letting me sign in. I can log into my account on the main browser, however it’s not as user friendly as the app is. It keeps telling me that the signature is invalid but there is no way of fixing that, is there? I love this game and I don’t want to have to stop playing it. :((
Hey Razorflame45 -- first of all, thanks for being an FMLer! But more importantly, are you still having a problem with the FML app? We hope not . . . but if you are, email us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
