Keep your pilot knowledge sharp and prepare for that important test, checkride or interview with this useful study aid. Written by airline pilot instructor and author, Ron McElroy, this FAR/AIM Flashcards App helps you maintain a core knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures that are a part of a pilot’s daily life. Each flashcard provides pertinent regulatory and procedural questions on one side, with answers and references on the flip side, facilitating learning with a rapid-fire flashcard format.
Flashcard decks provided for 14 CFR Part 1 (definitions and abbreviations), Part 61 (certification: pilots, flight instructors, and ground instructors), Part 91 (general operating and flight rules), and AIM (Aeronautical Information Manual). Select your deck to begin study and then use the intuitive and easy iPhone conventions (finger swipe, tap, or provided buttons) to move between cards and flip over. The bookmark feature lets you tag a card from any deck into a separate collection for dedicated study. Be ready for those tough questions on your next checkride, interview, or test.
Many of the questions and answers herein are obtained from United States government sources. None of the material in this app supersedes any documents, procedures, or regulations issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Just bought v1 and I'm over all a little dissapointed. - 2 stars for being over priced for providing 200 questions total on a limited amount of data. -1 star for being incomplete of sections of required knowledge for new student pilots. +1 star for being important to have for what little info is provided.
3 stars but barely - I still feel ripped off.
These flash cards are the perfect refresher for anyone who wants to quickly remember the important parts of the regs. I'm not sure why some people are so critical, these are flashcards after all, and these are just the right amount of content for a quick review every now and then. As a CFI/II I am very satisfied with the flash cards.
Overpriced and Underpopulated
Stay away from this latest ASA iPhone cash-grab. The interface looks like something that was made in the first generation of apps two years ago--just plan text lists. absolutely no effort put into the UI. Also, the app only runs in landscape mode, so that had better be convenient for you. It's lame looking on the iPhone and an epic waste of space on the iPad.
The worst part is the number of questions:
Part 1: 7 questions
Part 61: 33 questions
Part 91: 63 questions
AIM: 104 questions (unsorted by chapter)
Really ASA? 103 cards is all you can come up with for the entire FARs?
A poor effort designed to separate you from your $9.99. Would be overpriced at half the price. Recommend you go around on this one.
